Letter From Ms. Brito
Dear Washington Families,
I hope everyone has been enjoying a safe and relaxing break and soaking up these last days of summer! We are so excited to welcome our students and staff back to school in a few short weeks!
Our custodial staff has been working hard to prepare the building, and we are pleased to welcome our new Head Custodian, Christine Rojas to Washington. Additionally, our staff has been preparing over the summer months for the start of school, and we are thrilled to welcome the following new members of our team:
- Jennifer Adams, Assistant Principal
- Rachel Manchur, Music
- Lauren Landry, Physical Education
- Maeve Donahue, Kindergarten
- Madeline Spaulding, Third Grade
- Caitlin Jaffe, SLC
- Lori Paxson, SLC Social Worker
- Erin Wilson, Speech Pathologist
- Samantha Martini, Nurse
We have several important upcoming events that we want to remind you of. To welcome our new and kindergarten students, we will host a new family orientation on Thursday, August 17th at 9:00 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room. This event will be followed by a family "Meet and Greet" on the playground. The PTO will be on hand to share information about getting involved with the school and popsicles will be provided for the kids.
Additionally, please be on the lookout for the release of class placements on Tuesday, August 15th. Please log into your PowerSchool account on this date to find out who your child's teacher will be.
Finally, we hope to see you on Tuesday, August 22nd from 8:15-9:00 for our Washington School Supply Drop-Off. During this time, you will be able to bring in any school supplies and meet your child's homeroom teacher. Please know that these meetings will be very brief, and classrooms may not be at 100% quite yet! The purpose of this event is to bring any bulky items and relieve some first-day jitters students may have by meeting the teachers before the first day. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support with this!
As the summer draws to a close, we are feeling so thankful for our supportive school community. By working together, we will continue to provide an outstanding school experience for everyone. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Have a wonderful week, stay cool, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Warm Regards,
Angie
Class Placements Announced in PowerSchool
Class placements will be released to all District 64 families on Tuesday, August 15th. You will receive a letter via email with this information.
Washington teachers and administration collaborated on the creation of class lists for the upcoming school year. Please know that much thought and planning went into the creation of homerooms, taking into consideration students' social-emotional, behavioral and academic learning needs. Because of this, we are unable to honor special requests or changes at this time. Thank you for your understanding!
Teacher Greet/School Supply Drop Off
New Family Orientation and Playground Meet and Greet
Immediately following the orientation, the PTO will be sponsoring a New Family Meet and Greet on the playground. This will be an opportunity for new parents and students to connect with one another and play. The PTO will be on hand to share information about getting involved at the school and will provide popsicles for the kids.
We look forward to meeting and welcoming all of our new families to Washington!
