SBS Saints' Spotlight
Week of Monday, September 23 - Friday, September 27, 2024
What's Happening This Week:
Dear St. Bridget School Families,
Happy Fall! It's time for apples, apple cider, bonfires, pie, sweaters, fall sports, and watching God's beautiful art as the leaves change colors.
Thank you for another wonderful week, and thank you to all the families who came to mass today. We were honored that Superintendent Val Mara came to visit us today! She was sincerely impressed by the number of family members who attended mass. I must admit, I felt a happy sense of pride in the unity of our school family. Thank you for joining us!
Today was another beautiful day at mass. Father Romans was our celebrant, Father Yates assisted, and Mr. Niglio served as a eucharistic minister. The students were once again amazingly respectful and attentive. Our Pre-K students were wonderful! We have one or two little ones who are learning to lower their voices and follow directions in church, but they are learning, and that is wonderful!
Father Romans reminded us in his homily, that we should treat the needs of others as more important than our own. He praised the students for all the food donations for today's Stuff-A-Bus event. It was such a pleasure watching students stuff that yellow bus today! Father taught the students that giving to others in need is an example of putting our faith into action. Thank you for all the food donations, and thank you for modeling compassion for those in need.
(Philippians 2:3 - When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves.)
We would like to thank the role model students who served at mass today:
Altar Servers: Jaime Hine, Ava Murphy, Declan Murphy
First Reading: Miranda Machado
Responsorial Psalm: James Coviello
Petitions: Vanessa Quintyne
Gift Bearers: Lyla Svogun, Greyson Daly
*Thank you for serving others and putting your faith into action. We appreciate all of you!
*Today's Stuff-A-Bus Event was a huge success! Thank you all for your generosity!

Extra Notes
Congratulations to our St. Bridget School Soccer Team! They had fun and worked together as a team at their first home game! I loved seeing the students and their families supporting our mission to have fun and play! Unfortunately, I was only able to get outside for the first part of the game, but I hope to be able to watch more of the next game!
Please see the included current fall sports schedule.
Swap Shop News
There are new hours posted for the swap shop. The signup link is always the same for every week.
Please donate uniforms or come in and swap them. If you don't have uniforms to swap yet you can come in and purchase them (cash or check) and next time swap them.
The swap shop is in need of youth gym shirts, Pre-K shorts, girls sweaters and small fleece jackets and vests. We have lots of girls and boys uniform pants and gym sweatshirts.
The shop is located in the yellow building next to the playscape. The first door to the swap shop is always open and uniform donations can be left there.
