Principal Update
11/17/23

Dear LP Families,
Happy Thursday!
You are receiving this newsletter a day early as we do not have school tomorrow, 12/22. I would like to wish you all a joyful holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa to all who celebrate! May this upcoming winter recess be a time of rest and connection for you and your loved ones. Thank you for being valued members of our school community. Looking forward to a fantastic new year together!
I would also like to thank those who were able to vote and provide feedback on how often I will continue to share newsletters in the new year. Your voice was heard! It was pretty clear (84%) chose to continue with weekly newsletters so I am happy to honor that request. Be on the lookout for the next edition in the new year!
Wishing you all a happy, healthy, holiday season!
Dr. Bello

Thank you, Levi!
In case you didn't see this on our social media, we wanted to share Levi with you. He is the mastermind behind the teacher party we hosted this week. Levi came up with the idea to thank teachers and staff for working so hard before break. Thank you to all of our families who contributed treats. The smile on Levi's face was priceless. We are very thankful for the kindness shown to us this week. Thank you, Levi!

We have great news!
We are excited to announce that beginning January 2, 2024, through the end of the school year, East Irondequoit CSD will be providing free breakfast and lunch to all students through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
The CEP is a federal program that allows eligible schools districts to offer free meals to all students, regardless of individual household income. As of recently, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has expanded access to the federal CEP, allowing eligible schools participating in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs to offer school meals at no charge. The district is hopeful to extend this benefit to students in future school years, if federal and state funding makes this feasible.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the Community Eligibility Provision, please feel free to contact the Assistant School Business Official, Tim Heaphy at 339-1284.
SAVE THE DATE for Online Safety Night!
Join us for this informative night with a presentation from the NYS Troopers about how to keep your kids safe while they are using the internet or social media.
