Crawford's Corner... A Message from the Principal
I hope this finds you all having the best summer ever! This summer I took a few days of vacation enjoying a Texas Rangers game, relaxing at waterfalls in Rocky Mountain National Park, hiking a scenic trail in Big Bend, and reading a few books along the way. I have also been busy at work this summer hiring new staff, starting a few campus beautification projects, and attending a plethora of trainings that will assist me in preparing Crockett to become a campus that exemplifies the reinvented urban school. Last year we had a great school year; celebrating student successes in fine arts, athletics, career and technology, and academics.
The days that I was able to spend on campus this summer were a constant reminder of how lucky I am to be the principal of Crockett. I took some time to pause and take in the beauty of our courtyard—but the only thing missing was our students and staff. I am looking forward to having you all back, bustling around and getting involved in all our school has to offer. Believe it or not the start of the 2017-2018 school year is almost here.
This year, Crockett Cougars are committed to AISD’s 6 Cs- Collaboration, Communication, Connection, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Cultural Proficiency. We will also continue our work around Whole Child, Literacy, Transformative Technology and Standards Based Grading initiatives in order to better prepare our students for the 21st century.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you in a few short weeks. To the freshmen—welcome! I am excited you will be starting your journey with us. To the sophomores—get involved and assist our freshmen in making their transition to high school. To the juniors—keep working hard. This is one of the most important years of your high school career. To the seniors—be leaders and enjoy an amazing final year as a Crockett Cougar. And To everyone—let’s come in with more school spirit and Cougar Pride than we’ve ever had—let’s be the best we can every single day. Our fabulous student body and staff make this campus so special. It is through your hard work and dedication, your passion and poise that make Crockett ALWAYS VICTORIOUS!
Cougar Cub Camp
ATTENTION CLASS OF 2021: Cougar Cub Camp August 7th (9:00 - 3:00)
Don't miss this FUN and EXCITING opportunity to see old friends, meet new ones, and learn about high school!
Crockett High School is a caring community of students, families, and staff that promotes success for all. The first opportunity to begin the transition to high school is the Crockett August Cougar Camp. The Camp is for students to develop the foundation that will allow them to become successful ninth grade students and high school graduates. The day will begin with registration and greetings at 9:00am and will end by 3:00pm. We have planned a series of fun and organized activities intended to help students develop self-esteem, team building, problem-solving, communication, and social skills. At the same time, students will be meeting fellow classmates, teachers, counselors, principals, etc. and becoming familiar with the layout of the school as a whole. Parents are important members of the Crockett team. We encourage you to transition into the role of high school parents by attending the Parent Breakfast on Monday, August 7th at 9:30am.
