Warm hearts Gable boxes:
A Self Soothing Guide -
Individuals grieve in different ways and require different approaches to managing their grief. This includes information about grief, tips on managing grief and resources for the loved ones of homicide victims. There is also information about child and adolescent grief as well.
Stress Reducing Bath Salts:
Mint Scent Boosts Cognition, Improves Problem Solving and Memory. Did you know that there are numerous medicinal uses of peppermint? We know it can make your breath smell good, but the benefits of peppermint hardly stop at your mouth. Once ingested, or even smelled, peppermint can have profound brain health benefits.
According to recent research from Wheeling Jesuit University, the smell or flavor of peppermint can have profound effects on cognitive functions. These include reasoning, problem solving, concept formation, judgment, attention span, and even memory. Our Bath Therapy Package that is included combines lavender, epsom and pure mint oils which act as a stress reducing aid when combined.
Document Your Journey Journal & Keepsake Pen:
Keeping a personal journal can help you process and sort out your thoughts, feelings, memories, images, sensations, etc. As you continue to write, you may begin to gain clarity of where you have been, where you are now, and where you want to be in the future. This writing activity helps you track your own journey through grief. Your journal is private. You are the only one who needs to read it, unless you want to share it with others.
Many people who begin a journal in a time of grief find that they develop an inner capacity to listen more and more closely and compassionately to themselves and others, thereby enhancing their healing process
Laminated Sympathy Poem With Loved Ones Image:
More than just a "wallet card", the card is special not only because of what it says but also because it contains an image of their loved one so they can take it wherever they go.
Dark Chocolate:
Dark chocolate -- the healthiest variety -- promotes physical health and even functions as an aid for combatting foul moods and stress. Dark chocolate has been found to improve mood by increasing serotonin and endorphin levels in the brain. According to research published in 2009 in the journal "Proteome Research" and reported by "The Huffington Post", eating 1.4 ounces of dark chocolate daily for two weeks is associated with lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
Mint Tea / Chamomile Tea:
Peppermint tea is more than just plain delicious. It has been proven to have some fairly amazing health and beauty benefits... Particularly - Stress Relief
When it comes to stress and anxiety, peppermint tea is one of your best allies. The menthol that is naturally present in the tea is a muscle relaxant; the relaxation of the muscles can be an enormous component of natural stress and anxiety relief… not to mention falling asleep!
Chamomile Tea:
It was the Egyptians who first recorded the use of chamomile tea, in a papyrus that dates from 1550 BC. It was known to the Romans as well as the Celts and Egyptians, and is still regarded as one of the most basic herbal teas to have in a modern cupboard. Chamomile is well known for its calming properties. It is extremely effective at helping with anxiety and insomnia, again another common symptom of depression.
Soup: Lipton Cup (packets)
Soup is customary for healing in more ways than one... In some cultures - when someone is grieving - loved ones offer support by doing small and seemingly - insignificant things - like taking over particular responsibilities or delivering food particularly soup. Soup is believed to be healing and soothing to the soul.
Please help us pull this off... The smallest donation will help us get there... Even if you give a quarter - it will be one quarter more than we had... Please visit: http://www.gofundme.com/unsolvedsyracuse
