The film
The film "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" was the first film of the very successful saga. It was directed by Chris Columbus and it was based on the book with the same name written by J.K Rowling. The movie was released 4 November 2001 in London. The main character is named Harry Potter and in the film is played by Daniel Radcliffe that was chosen by Columbus since the director of the film saw him in the production of the BBC novel "David Copperfield".
The Story
Harry is an orphan and lives with his uncle, his aunt and his cousin. He lives in a little room under the stairs and it's always badly treated by his uncle and aunt. One day, a different letter came to his house from a witchcraft and wizardry school brought by an owl.
His uncle doesn't want him to see the letter and Harry gets very sad and angry because of it. Then a hundred of copies of the same letter come to his house and his uncle starts to get mad. So, he decide to go to a little house in the middle of nowhere with Harry, his cousin and his aunt. In the middle of the night, a really big man named Hagrid appears telling Harry that he's a wizard and that he needs to go with him to this school named Hogwarts.
Harry, then, goes to this very cool school and meet a lot of different people, a totally different culture and the most important thing, he meets magic. The director of this school is named Albus Dumbledore and he becomes very friend of Harry. Potter meets a ginger boy named Ronald Weasley and a very intelligent girl named Hermione Granger and they become best friends.
