Millard Ranks as the 13th Largest Employer in the Metro
Millard Public Schools has an impact on the community that extends beyond learning. The Omaha Chamber of Commerce ranks the district as the thirteenth largest employer in the metro. The Board received and discussed the annual personnel report at this week's meeting. In total, Millard has 2,859 staff members. Certificated staff members, meaning those who hold a teaching certificate, have worked for Millard for an average of 11.8 years and an average of 15.2 total years in education. Millard teachers never stop learning. The number of Millard employees who have earned a Master's degree is 1,341, and 51 staff members hold a doctorate.
Millard Students Score Above Average on ACT
Millard students continue to outperform both the state and nation on national assessments. The Board received and discussed the ACT report. Millard graduating seniors’ average composite score was 21.2. The state was 19.2, and the nation was 19.5. Nebraska is one of a small number of states that give the ACT to almost every student. Nebraska had the highest state composite score of those states that give ACT to 96% or more of their students.
Strong Numbers Support Summer School
Millard summer school remains a popular and important option for students and families. The Board received and discussed 2023 Summer School report. This past summer 2,393 students attended classes. All together they took 3,840 courses. 248 of the courses were part of a new five week format for middle school mathematics and reading. Twenty-three students were able to take advantage of summer school to complete their course work and graduate.

- Holling Heights Principal Tracy Logan has been honored as one of two Lozier LIGHTS Outstanding Principals of the year.
- MWHS Assistant Principal Casey Lundgren has been named the 2023-24 NSAASP Assistant Principal of the Year.
- MNHS Instrumental Music Teacher Craig Mathis has been named the Nebraska Music Educators Association's Outstanding Music Educator 2023.
