Kimberly Miller: 7-9 Counselor
Kimberly Miller is beginning her second year at Arkansas Arts Academy and will serve grades 7-9 as school counselor. Mrs. Miller has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Arkansas State University. In addition, she completed Non-Violent Crisis Prevention through the Crisis Prevention Institute and is a member of the American School Counselor Association.
Mrs. Miller said, “My focus is achieving wellness through art, music, and mindfulness techniques. Just a few of my daily goals include providing students a safe space to process feelings, teaching coping skills, and helping improve peer relationships.” Mrs. Miller also works to connect families with community resources and develop partnerships with organizations that offer support to families and students. Mrs. Miller added, “I am looking forward to helping connect the elementary and high school campuses. I loved going into 6th grade classrooms last year and then bringing those students over to tour the high school campus. I enjoyed seeing 6th graders get excited about the transition to high school. The counseling team is eager to have even more events to connect the two campuses.”
Mrs. Miller lives in Fayetteville with her husband, Daniel, and they have two children, Sloane and Blair. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, gardening, baking, and mixed media collage.
Amber Foster: District Lead Counselor, 10-12 Counselor
She has a son who attends AAA at the elementary school. In her spare time she loves to travel and see new places, spend time with friends, go biking, hiking, and enjoy the beautiful scenery this area has to offer.
