On behalf of the Islip Middle School teaching and learning community, welcome to the 2018-19 school year, and to our new 6th grade students and families, welcome to IMS!
I am so excited to be starting my second year here at IMS, and I believe this year will be an unforgettable learning journey. Our adventure together starts on Wednesday, September 5th, the first day of school. Students’ schedules will be posted in the week prior to the start of the school year, so be sure they have it with them on day one. But don’t worry – if they’re not sure where to go, our staff will be ready to help them get where they need to be.
If you’re reading this, you already know about our IMS Connection newsletter, but that’s not the only way to keep up to date with everything happening at IMS. Please check us out on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to catch photos, videos, and news about amazing things going on at IMS. Our annual Meet the Teacher night at IMS will be held on Thursday, September 20th. Our presentation for parents of students enrolled in AIS will begin at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., parents and students will travel through the building on a condensed time schedule similar to students’ daily schedules. I look forward to meeting you that evening.
Our goal is nothing short of making school an amazing experience for every kid, every day. We look forward to teaming with you to make this dream a reality.
