Family Communication

Hello Otter families,

We have kicked off Kindness month on February 1st! Please see the random acts of kindness challenge, and help us motivate our Otters to show their kindness.

This week we have Otter Ball on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm, please make sure you purchase your tickets ahead of time as space is limited. Our Ball Hockey team will be participating in the Tampa Bay Lightning Youth Hockey Development Tournament down in Lakewood Ranch on Saturday.

Valentine's Day does fall on our Early Release Day this year, as a result we will not be having any parties in the classrooms in order to maximize the time for instruction. Families are still welcomed to do Valentine's for the entire class if you choose, but please do not send your child with any candy or snacks for the class.

We want to thank all our families who participated in last weeks Chick Fil A night. We have received information the store is now corporately owned, and all further Chick Fil A nights have been cancelled.

Dairy Queen Night

Wednesday, February 7 from 5:00 to 7:00pm is Dairy Queen Night. This supports our first grade team. Come out and join us for dinner and dessert!

Upcoming District Wide Dates

We wanted to provide you with Meet the Teacher Day and some important dates for incoming Kindergarten students.

4/15/2024 Kindergarten Round Up - District Registration opens for children starting kindergarten August 2024.

*Oakstead Evening Date will be shared next week.*

8/1/2024 and 8/2/2024 Kinder Camp for students enrolled for August 2024.

8/7/2024 - Meet the Teacher Elementary

8/12/2024 - Student's First Day

Otter Ball

The PTA is bringing back the popular annual event, Otter Ball. It has been scheduled for Friday, February 9th from 6-8pm. Tickets are currently on sale through Rycor! This is a ticketed event with limited attendance. We encourage everyone to review the Otter Ball Masquerade document below to get further details to the event. Please reach out to the PTA with any questions.

April and May 2024 Testing Dates

The calendar linked below displays the tentative dates we have assigned for grades 3-5 state testing. We highly encourage you to mark these on your calendar now to ensure your child attends on their assigned testing day. We do not anticipate these dates changing unless we receive directives from the state or district offices.

Grade 5 Writing assessment has been moved to 4/2/2024.

Please update this on your personal calendars.

Our amazing counseling team has organized our February Kindness Campaign to include some themed dress up days, as well as a Random Acts of Kindness Challenge.
