Your video connection to what's new in GCPS

October 12, 2023 | Your video connection to what's new in GCPS
In the latest episode of Connected, we celebrate GCPS' recognized and award-winning schools. Kayla shares updates on registrations, but the spotlight is on your voice for GCPS' instructional resources. The public review runs until Tuesday, October 31. Share with us—Gwinnett thrives on your feedback! Follow this link to learn more about what's happening in GCPS.
There's still time to vote for the calendar option for the 2024–25 and 2025–26 school years! This is not a survey—your votes will decide which calendar is adopted by the school system for two years. Families, students, and staff have received an email with a link to vote. If you have not received an email, please contact your school to make sure there is an email address for you. Once an email address is on file, you will receive the link to vote.
Visit our website for information about the calendar options. Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. on October 22.
Each month of the 2023-24 school year, we will spotlight one of our strategic priorities or Portrait of a Graduate competencies by sharing the stories of two clusters—highlighting their classrooms, notable events, community insights, achievements, community service projects, student organizations, volunteer efforts, and more.
October Blueprint in Action: Empathy
Empathy, the ability to understand the feelings of another person and place yourself in their position, is the entry point towards creating a culture where staff and students feel a sense of belonging and safety. Empathy allows us to consider the perspective of others, affirming and valuing the diversity of everyone in our community. It is a critical element of emotional intelligence. If we are to truly recognize the dignity in every person—their innate worth resulting from their very humanity—we must first practice empathy.
This month we'll share more about the Duluth and Meadowcreek clusters' work creating a culture of understanding and belonging, building the bridge from empathy to excellence. #GCPSBlueprintInAction
