- A reminder that students will dismiss at 1:00 on November 1, 2, and 3 to allow for Parent/Teacher conferences. Lunch is not served on early dismissal days; students may bring a snack.
A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! We had an exciting week this week, and the excitement will continue throughout next week as well. This week, we were lucky enough to have Advisory on a Wednesday. Advisory covered the topics of School Violence Awareness Week and Red Ribbon Week. With the help of Mrs. Heuer and some of our School Broadcasting students, we were able to interview Officer Behre on the importance of keeping our school safe, how students can help to keep our school a safe space, and the importance of staying drug-free. Officer Behre has been in law enforcement for over 25 years, and the Mountain View community has been lucky enough to have him as our Class II Officer for four years. The students offered awesome feedback on Officer Behre’s interview, and loved learning important lessons from one of their favorite staff members. To prepare for our upcoming Red Ribbon Week, the students shared their reasons for remaining drug-free on their own red ribbons, which are now displayed in the front hallway as a reminder that the Mountain View community pledges to be drug-free.
Next week is Red Ribbon Spirit Week, and as a part of both Advisory and Spirit week, all EEE classes have been participating in a door decorating contest. Each EEE class has come up with an idea for a drug-free themed door and they have been working hard this week to make their ideas come to life. The winning door will be selected next Friday, and the winners will earn their grade spirit points! Ask your students what their theme is, and stay tuned for photos, which will be posted to @mendhamborosd. Have a great weekend Mountain View, and don't forget to dress up for spirit week next week.
