Hornet Hive Updates
Green JHS Weekly Bulletin for March 29th
Principal's Message
Good morning E.O. Green families and community,
We are in the last week for Quarter 3. Please take time to read the various sections in this Hornet Hive Bulletin. It is an exciting week with the Welcome Back Orientations for 8th and 7th grade. This bulletin provides you important information about the end of the 3rd Quarter, student grade marks, 7th and 8th-grade orientations, Spring Break, returning to in-person instruction schedules and school uniform guidelines.
On Friday, sixth grade Welcome Back Orientation was a success; we hosted 369 Hybrid and Hueneme at Home students. Thank you for taking the time to visit the campus, obtain your students' picture I.D., purchase GREEN gear, stop at your classroom for meet & greet, and much more. We look forward to seeing our excellent 8th-grade students tomorrow, Tuesday, 3/30, and on Wednesday, 3/31, the 7th graders. The staggered alpha schedule for orientations is below and information about the various stations your student will be visiting. Please remember, CASH ONLY to purchase GREEN Gear. Thank you for submitting the LCAP survey at the last Orientation Station; we appreciate it.
This is the last week for Quarter 3. Therefore, the last opportunity to push those grades up; earn a satisfying GPA, grade point average higher than 2.0 to equal to a C-grade average. Please encourage your student to submit all missing assignments and makeup tests/quizzes and projects.
We, the GREEN staff, are excited to host classes on campus soon. Thanks to all of our outstanding GREEN staff for taking time out of their busy schedule to be part of this Welcome Back to In-person Instruction Video. Special thanks go to the video producers: Ms. Gonzalez, Ms. Myers, Ms. Sluyter, Dr. Stevens, and some great student actors: Christian Baltazar, Cristian Martinez and Nayra Sandoval. Job well done! Please enjoy these Welcome Back Videos: 6th Grade Video and 7th/8th Grade Video.
As you know, Spring Break is from April 5 to April 16, 2021. In-person instruction begins on Monday, April 19; for students in Cohort A. April 19, Cohort B will be learning remotely. Please call us if you have any questions at 805-986-8750. Below you also find the Hybrid Bell Schedules. It provides you specific times for arrival and dismissal.
We encourage our Hornets to wear school uniforms, but many outgrew them and we do not want you to spend money on a uniform for only a few weeks left in this school year. School-appropriate clothing items are acceptable. Please visit the link below for more information about what clothing items acceptable for school.
Finally, we encourage all parents to please take time to complete the survey below to gather potential interest for next year's H@H program.
We look forward to see you at orientation and please have a wonderful and relaxing spring break vacation!
Attentively,
Irma Melgoza-Vasquez
