One Life at a Time
FARM Haiti - October 2022
You + FARM Haiti = BIG Impact
Thanks to YOU, 234 people were blessed with 3 weeks' worth of rice, beans, spaghetti, oil, and seasoning!! This help was greatly needed as Haiti is currently in the midst of a security and humanitarian crisis with gangs blocking fuel terminals, stopping all travel. Lack of fuel means no transportation of food, no power to purify water, which is causing a cholera outbreak, bringing a new degree of hopelessness. Our work in development has shifted to relief work as our neighbors are starving. Our heavy hearts are made lighter by your generosity. Thank you!
Empowered Farmers = Hope
Sometimes we wonder if we are doing enough, and then the phone rings. Three calls in one day from farmers we had trained. All of them called to say, "Thank you. Because of the training, we have food to eat, have saved seeds for next planting season, and even sold our abundance at the market." These words were much needed encouragement. This is why we press on. Empowering others brings sustainability and hope.
EMCC World Partners hosted a 3-day training course at Gens de Nord, in NE Haiti. FARM Haiti's team taught the Farming God's Way principles to 80 school students and parents, including how to plant Gardens of Faithfulness (home gardens).

A word from our founder
My knee injury was the third event that happened directly before my trip to Haiti. I believe God was guarding me from the turmoil that is currently happening in Haiti. I have been spending my time taking courses, updating the website (check it out www.farmhaiti.org), and spending time with family, especially my grandbabies.
My desire is to return as soon as I can. Supplies to complete the well and solar system are still in suitcases and need to be delivered to get the systems up and running. The bed frames have been built and the benches are waiting to be put together. And of course, landscaping around the Center, including lots of flowers to make it beautiful-a priority for Mary but not necessarily for our staff who think vegetables are more important than flowers. After 2 years of planning, we are more than excited to complete the facility. We want to have everything ready to host our first 2-week intensive agronomy training when travel opens up in Haiti.
In closing, I ask for prayers for Haiti and the people I have grown to love. Blessings! Mary
