Congratulations to Senior Cole Schneider on reaching yet another milestone and one for the history books as he becomes the first hockey player for Toms River North to notch 200 career points. Cole is a threat every time he touches the ice, striking quickly and often. After three seasons, Cole produced 191 points. Just two games into the 20/21 season, Cole has scored 7 goals and posted 2 assists, setting a school record with 13 games remaining in the regular season.
Congratulations on your achievement Cole! Best of luck to you and your teammates throughout the season.

Mariner Media Center
The Mariner Media Center is looking for student volunteers, both virtual and in person. In person volunteers spend time after school creating displays, processing books, taking care of our plants and other assorted tasks. Virtual volunteers can write book reviews or work with Ms. Ivarson to create instructional videos like this one showing students how to utilize their Toms River School Gmail: https://youtu.be/w_y9nSHx0hQ.
Email our Mariner Media Specialist, Karla Ivarson, for more information on volunteering: kivarson@trschools.com
Securly
Securly Classroom is a tool our teachers have access to that enables them to provide students with over-the-shoulder support. It allows the teacher a look into students’ screens* so that they can guide, monitor, and communicate with students when class is in session and students are signed into their district-provided Google accounts. Teachers can push out links, bring students to specific sites as a group, and guide them on their screens if they are struggling. Students can raise their hand if they have a question with the click of an icon and ask questions in a chat with the teacher if they need one-on-one support.
The program is enabled on all district chromebooks and is also accessible on non-district Chromebooks, Windows and Mac computers during class time when a student is signed into his/her district Google login. As a notification to students and parents that the program is in use, the district will be enabling a message box that will appear on the screen for students when a session is active.
*During a live session, the browser tab that a student has open is visible to teachers, as well as a listing of titles for other tabs. The teacher does not have access to the site or information on any other tabs and cannot navigate to those tabs; nor does the teacher have access to the computer’s desktop, menus or other programs.

Attention: TRN Juniors, Seniors, and Faculty
Unfortunately, due to the Pandemic, TRN cannot hold our biannual blood drives, where we are constantly making a difference to our community, keeping Ocean County's blood supply healthy.
Our blood donations have helped cancer patients, new mothers, and babies, people with debilitating illnesses, car accident victims, other accident victims, etc., etc., etc.
Our blood donations have helped our families and our neighbors!
Please consider donating blood during a Toms River Drive, on Saturday, Feb. 6th - Remember, the blood bank is extremely low, especially without our and all the other schools' drives.
