We had a great first TCE Coffee Chat for parents! Thank you to everyone that was able to attend, and a big thank you to our CISD Digital Learning Coaches who were our guest speakers for the morning. I've linked below a resource page for families who were not able to attend. We look forward to another TCE Coffee Chat later this semester, and we will pass along the date and topic soon.

It's time for our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Color Run! Funds raised will pay for the classroom grants we fund in November, field trip buses, Field Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Here are the details:

The fundraiser runs from October 2-20. Every TCE student will receive a free Color Run shirt and be able to participate in the run on October 20 at no cost. Any parents and/or non-TCE kids that would like to participate can register to run for $20 by clicking here. If you register to run by October 3, you will get a Color Run shirt. Registrations after the 3rd will not receive a shirt.

Each class has created a goal/rewards chart for donations that come in under their name/class. Watch for your child's chart in their teacher's weekly blog. The more the class raises, the more rewards the class enjoys together! You can donate online at www.towncenterpto.org or send cash or check (payable to TCE PTO) in an envelope with your child's grade and teacher. Registering family members counts towards the class donation. Make sure to send out the donation link to grandparents and anyone that would like to donate. We will start taking donations on Monday, Oct. 2.

The classes will earn their rewards together, as a team, but the top two earners in each grade will be recognized and get to start their grade's run first.

Pizza can be preordered here starting Oct. 2. Drinks and frozen treats can be purchased at the run.

Your kiddo should have brought home a form asking for their shirt size. Please turn it in by Tuesday, October 3rd to request a specific size. After Tuesday, we will chose the size for any children who have not turned in the sheet. Again, every TCE student will be given a FREE shirt. Below are general reminders for daily attendance and tardies. We recognize the value of school attendance and the impact it can have on a student's academic success, so we appreciate you all partnering with us.

• Our school day begins at 7:40 a.m. Please make sure you are arriving at school with enough time to drop your child off to be in their classroom by 7:40 a.m. Our school building opens at 7:20 a.m. and our hope is they walk into the building by 7:35 a.m. to get to class on time.

• If your child is going to be absent for any reason, please make sure to communicate to the front office and classroom teacher the reason they will be out. You can email our attendance aide, Sherri Kinglsey, at skingsley@coppellisd.com or send a note in with your child when they return to school.

• As a campus, we will be monitoring the frequency of absences. If your child accumulates a large number of absences, we will reach out to develop a plan with you to initiate preventative measures, address excessive absences, and improve attendance overall.

We ask that all families complete a volunteer background check. They do not carry over from year to year. Since the background checks take time to process, we ask that everyone complete one in case any type of volunteering opportunity (class field trip, Dads Club, Room parent, class volunteer, field day, etc.) arises during the year that you are interested in.
