Cobra Strike
From the Desk of the Junior/Senior High School Principal
Yes, Yes, Yes we do, we got spirit how bout you?
Homecoming week is upon us. I can't hardly believe that it is here already. There are a lot of things going on this week. For starters there is spirit week. Each day has some different fun ways for students to get into the spirit of things. Thursday in particular is interesting. Stuco decided to allow each house to choose their own spirit day. There should be some fun outfits running around the halls. There will be a house competition this week based on student participation in spirit week.
The houses have also been Charged with coming up with their own cheer during spirit week that will be judged by the cheerleaders during the pep rally Friday.
Outside of spirit week and the games all over this week, we will also have the 2nd annual powderpuff game Monday evening at 7:00 pm where we will see if the Seniors can defend their title. There will be sportsmanship awards given out during the game provided by the referees. During the day, the freshman class will be selling root beer floats during lunch, the Senior class will be doing an ice bucket fund raiser where students pay to pour an ice bucket on seniors and staff.
Additionally, there will be the bonfire on Thursday after the middle school football game. Everyone is welcome there to the bonfire and welcome to come bash the car to their hearts content. We will have music going and just enjoy each others company.
Finally there is Friday where we come to the pep rally, the game, and the dance. We will be announcing the Homecoming king and queen during halftime of the game. Homecoming week is always a fun one, but a busy one. We will have a great time.
As always there is too much for me to just talk about in this opening section so away we go...
Keep on making a difference.

Fire in the Hole
We are seeking some parents who want amazing seats during the game to help out with firing the cannon for Friday's game. Joe and I had fun doing it last time, but we would really like for this to be a community thing. That plus I can't really stay by the cannon the whole time. If you are interested in helping out with the cannon, please email me to let me know. derek.smith@jhcobras.net
Reserved Parking
Painting parking spots is becoming a cherished tradition that allows our seniors to express their creativity and leave a lasting mark on our school. Each year, as our seniors prepare to embark on their next journey, they are granted the unique opportunity to transform their parking spaces into colorful canvases that reflect their personalities, passions, and memories. This tradition not only adds vibrancy to our school grounds but also creates a sense of belonging and nostalgia for our graduating seniors, who can look back on their painted spots with pride and sentimentality long after they've moved on to new adventures. It's a wonderful way for our seniors to make their mark and celebrate their time at our school before taking the next step into the future.

Yesterday, after the rain, my son decided it was time to go jump in the puddles. He came up with this ensemble and asked Grammy, "Do I look weird in this?" to which she said, "Is that what you were going for?" and he said, "Yup!" Afterwards, I went out and helped him check the puddles for portals into magical worlds. I wish everyone can stay as weird as they are when they are four years old. Stay Weird and do what makes you smile.
Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind.
