What a great last day we had! I hope you have a wonderful summer, and look forward to our new kindergartners coming, and to the return of our (now) 1st through 5th grade students. We're going to have a great year next year, and we're already planning some great events for our community.

Congratulations to our Safety Patrol Students. They attended the annual picnic at Burdette and were presented with the First Place in the city award!! Please offer your congratulations to them for all of their hard work and extra hours in the sun, snow, sleet , and rain! They are Luke Diekman, Karlye Schippert, Taylor Johnson, Gabby Frey, Lauren Thomas, and Zoi Bateman.

The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation's Extended Day Center Program will begin accepting applications April 18 for the 2016-17 school year. Children who will be in Grades K-6 are eligible to participate. Enrollment forms will be available in the day care office here at West Terrace, as well as online at evscschools.com, click on the link for Family Services and select "Extended Day Centers." The form should be returned to the ED Center Office.

Hours of operation and fees are as follows:

6:30 am to the time school starts

2:30 pm - 6:00 pm for K-8 schools

3:10 pm - 6:00 pm for all other schools

AM $15.00/week

PM $35.00/week

AM/PM $50/week

As of the end of this school year, we will no longer be collecting plastic caps here at West Terrace. Since 2013, we have collected approx. 7,000 lbs. of caps and been able to acquire 5 benches and 4 picnic tables!! Thank you to everyone who tirelessly saved caps for us, students that sorted, bagged, and weighed caps, and parents that helped secure funds, picked up caps, and transported them to and from Green Tree Plastics!

We will continue to save aluminum cans! The cage is located on the east side of the school in the parking area.

Paws on Parade

THANK YOU to all staff members and students that helped with the Paws On Parade club. The club wouldn’t be successful without you. I had so many student helpers this year that I can’t begin to name them all for I’m afraid that I may leave someone out. I greatly appreciate all your help! You are all awesome team members!

The club has grown and the kids have worked so hard to achieve their goals. They have also gotten a great start to setting lifelong healthy habits. I’m so proud of each and every child that participated in the club. They all did an awesome job!
