Speaking of Curriculum
Types of Curriculum
As you work through curriculum review cycles, it may be important to reference resources in committees that help others gather a deeper understanding of curriculum. Allan Grathon, an education researcher and author, has identified seven types of curriculum. However, three of the most common curricula he has identified include the written curriculum, the taught curriculum, and the assessed curriculum. As you read about the three different types of curriculum, consider how they align to your understanding and teaching of the curriculum. You can also watch this brief video clip on the 7 Types of Curriculum(Opens in a new window.) (Run Time: 1:43) by Francine Banton.
