Box Tops
Effective February 21st, Longmont Estates PTO will no longer be picking up clipped Box Tops from the classrooms. Don’t worry! PTO will still collect Box Tops as long as Box Tops for Education will accept them! We just won’t collect in the classrooms. After February 21st, Box Tops can be left in the Box Tops mailbox in the office.
Turn your labels in by February 21st! Don’t forget to include both the student’s name and the teacher’s name on the bag. There will be one last popcorn day for all students who bring in labels by February 21st.
Don’t forget! You can go to https://www.boxtops4education.com to download the BTFE app. No more cutting labels! Now you can scan your receipt and credit goes straight to the LEE PTO account.

DISCOVERING DINOSAURS
What can you tell about a dinosaur’s behavior by examining fossils of its teeth? Just how many teeth did a T-Rex have? Why did Diplodocus swallow stones? Through hands-on experience with fossils and casts, students will discover the adaptations and behaviors of some of Earth’s famous past residents, the dinosaurs. Students will examine fossils and explore the lives of dinosaurs; how they hunted, ate and defended themselves. Aside from the dinosaur specimens, a sampling of additional fossils will show evidence of some of the other ancient life forms that once existed on the earth.
When? Wednesday, March 4th (Late Start)
Time? 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Who? K-5 students, but limited to first 30 students who sign up.

THANK YOU!
Here is a big “shout out” to the Longmont Estates families, students, staff and especially the volunteers who, once again, made the book fair such an incredibly successful fundraiser for the LEEL Library. With the funds raised, new titles will be purchased for all grade level students to check out and enjoy.
The following volunteers went above and beyond in making it a fun experience for everyone and I would like to extend my personal THANK YOU to them: Danielle Larson, Carrie Mescall, Mr. K, Christine Stone, Jennifer Copp, Lori Hendrickson, Lindsay Keeney, Michelle Flores, Debbie Odom, Gabi Scott and Family, Holly Link and Abby Ledesma.
Reading is so essential to a student’s future success in school and it is such a wonderful sight to see families coming in to the book fair to purchase exciting reading materials for their children!
