The Mustang Messenger
September 22nd, 2023
Greetings Mustang Families!
Our students have enjoyed the cool weather this week, just in time for fall. Our Beyond the Bell Opportunities started with students engaging in programs that allow them to connect to school and get academic supports after school. If your student is struggling academically, behaviorally, or socially-emotionally, please reach out to your student's counselor. We are here to help and support our students.
Have a great weekend!
Catherine Nicholas, Ed.D.
Fall Break
Monday, October 2nd, is Fall Break and there will be no school on that day only. School is in session the remainder of the week.
Rancho Pico Demographics
Rancho Pico has a beautifully diverse student body. This is a visual of our student demographics.
Hispanic Heritage Month - September 15 to October 15
Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) takes place September 15 to October 15 every year as a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latino community.
Eras Spirit Week Next Week
Safety concerns on Valencia Blvd.
Valencia Blvd. is a challenge during school drop off and pick up due to three schools on the hill. Students are walking, riding bikes, and riding scooters. There are also new high school drivers on the road. I know it can be a time consuming and frustrating experience to go a short distance. I appreciate the care and patience required to keep our students safe. There have been some close calls and our students' safety is our number one concern.
It was great to see some of our families at the Big Chicken fundraiser this week. We appreciate our generous families and rely on fundraising to support our activities on campus, support our hard-working staff, and support our academic teams. Thank you for supporting Rancho Pico at our fundraisers. Please spread the word, we have another one coming up at Toppers!

There are campus supervisors out at all times, administrators available, counselors, and wellness team supports, teachers, and classified personnel that include our amazing office staff who students can go to. Student are also reminded to use our CareText line to report.

Rancho Pico students are opportunity Ready!
Students are encouraged to wear a college shirt or a shirt that represents a future career goal on Thursdays. It is great to see all of the college and industry shirts out on campus.
