Week of November 9
A note from Ms. Harmon: Hi 5th grade families! We will be starting our second novel study soon. All students will need the book “Sophia’s War: A Tale of The Revolution.” If you cannot purchase the book at this time, please let me know as soon as possible. All in-person students should bring this book to class no later than this Friday!
ELAR: This week, we are starting poetry! We will also have a vocabulary quiz on Friday.
Social Studies: This week, we are studying Industries of Early Colonies, and students will be responsible for completing a project on comparing colonies.
Math: This week in math, we will continue our unit on multiplication. This week we will work on multiplying decimals. We will learn different strategies to multiply decimals (algorithm and modeling). Please check your child's PLP for their assignments this week.
Science: This week in science, we are learning about rapid and slow changes. We will learn how weathering and erosion shape Earth's surface. Please check your child's PLP for their assignments this week.
