K-6 Student of the Week of May 8

Mrs. Curley has selected Oliver Clark as student of the week. Oliver is super enthusiastic with all things he does. He participates, always tries his best, and is such a great helper in the classroom. He has definitely won the title of "super reader" this year, as he has put the work in when learning to read. Oliver is a great friend and always makes sure to help his friends when needed. I will miss his love for learning and goofy antics in the classroom. Great job buddy.

7-12 Student of the Week for May 8

Ashlyn Palmer is Mrs. Kidd's choice for student of the week. Ashlyn is the daughter of Melissa Palmer. Every day she shows great determination to be a better student. She always puts her best foot forward, works toward goals of self-improvement, and models excellent classroom habits of hard work and discipline. She is happy to get up and volunteer when nobody else will and adds an all-around positive attitude to the classroom. Congratulations, Ashlyn! You've earned it!

K-6 Wacky Wednesday Schedule

Every Wednesday will be a different wacky day. If your child would like to participate, they will need to pay $1 to their teacher. The funds raised will go directly to your child’s class for field trips or classroom needs.

- May 17: LOCAL HERO DAY/GUM DAY — Dress like one of our local fireman, police officers, ambulance, electric company folks to help celebrate Safety Day or Bring your favorite flavor and when the teacher says it’s ok – chew away!
- GUM DAY — Bring your favorite flavor and when the teacher says it’s ok – chew away!
- May 25: DISNEY/MARVEL DAY — What’s your favorite character? Come surprise us.

Grades 7-12 Tutoring/Homework space

Tuesdays and Wednesdays until May 19. Stop in to get homework done and help passing classes. If no students show up, teacher will be leaving at 3:30 p.m.

Sex Education Advisory Board Application - Deadline extended to May 22

The purpose of a sex education advisory board is to periodically review materials and methods and make recommendations to the district's board of education regarding changes. The advisory board establishes program goals and objectives for pupil knowledge and skills; review the materials and method of instruction used and make recommendations to the board of education for implementation; and once every 2 years, evaluate, measure, and report the attainment of program goals and objectives.

The advisory board needs to be made up of clergy, teachers, parents, students, and community health professionals.
