O.E.S. Owls Nest News
News & Upcoming Events
Good Morning OES families!
The weather prevented us from participating in winter sports this past week. We are extremely hopeful that we will be able to attend this Friday.
Students of OES have been cooking up a storm this week. This has been made possible through the partnership we have with Farm to School. The first grade helped prepare the monthly taste test (see images below), and were very excited to share this with the entire school. In the after school program, students prepared shepard's pie. Students are enjoying these learning opportunities.
The third and fourth graders have been working on their Abenaki projects and will be attending a field trip to the Nulhegan Educational and Cultural Center later this week. Our Kindergarten class is beginning to read! It is amazing hear them - they are very excited learners!
The Lake Region guidance counselor (Mrs. Urie) will be visiting our 8th graders on Monday. This visit will be to share information with the students regarding class offerings, electives, and provide an opportunity for students to ask questions. Please ask your children about this visit.
The Orleans Village Winter Party has been postponed due to the weather and lack of safe sledding conditions. The new date is February 25th.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Skaters will have a snack and leave school at 10:30. returning to school at 1:00. They will have lunch once we return.
Burke Mountain explorers will leave school at 10:15 and return at 5:00 pm. Please be prompt when picking up these students.

During the After School Program students were actively engaged this week throughout different activities. Students learned how to make Beet Brownies and Shepherd's Pie for the community in need. They overcame challenges with slime making, Lego's and obstacle courses. They even watched a few movies and made awesome puppets! (Submitted by Bailey Perry)
