Owens Families,

We are so excited to celebrate our phenomenal counselor next week, Mrs. Monica Jones. This is Mrs. Jones 9th year in education, 7th year as a counselor and 3rd year at Owens. Mrs. Jones is married to her husband Jacob and has twin boys, Andrew and Evan. She and her husband are both proud graduates of Tyler ISD. Mrs. Jones can be seen all around campus each day serving students and helping others. She is also the friendly face calling names each afternoon at 1st/2nd grade pick up. Mrs. Jones is leading our Leader in Me initiative at Owens this year. She has a smile for everyone and both her smile and laugh are infectious. We are so proud to call her ours and celebrate all she does for our school this week as part of National Counselors Week.

Owens Elementary will kick off the American Heart Association's Kid Heart Challenge on Monday, February 1st and will end on Friday, February 12th! Our goal this year is to raise $5,000 for the American Heart Association, and every student that raises $100 or more will get to pie Coach Burns in the face. You can use the links from PTA to sign up for Card My Yard for Valentines. There is a discount for Owens. What a fun way to show someone special in your life how much they mean to you.

Below are pictures of the lost and found in our gymnasium so far. Please help us get items back to their rightful owners. If you have not already written your child's name in their winter gear, do so today with a sharpie. It helps us get items right back to your child when they are left behind. To claim an item from the photographs below:
