Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,
Enjoy the long weekend! If your child attends an In-Person Learning or CARE classroom, please be sure to follow the Updated travel guidance from DC Health.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our family appreciation table and those who attended our last Hybrid-Learning and Equity and Anti-Racism Task Force meetings of the school year. You are appreciated! Information will be forthcoming around summer engagement opportunities for families.
Thank you to all of our families who have already enrolled for the 2021-2022 school year. Your timely enrollment truly supports us in planning for the upcoming school year. Available resources and class sizes may be impacted. So, if you have not enrolled, please do so and reach out to hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov, if any support is needed.

Invitation to Hardy MS Fall Family Forecast – for all current, future and prospective Hardy Families!
Dear Hardy Extended Family,
I hope you are well and safe and looking forward to the coming school year! I know we are at Hardy. This fall, as in all DCPS schools all Hawks and Hawk teachers will be back in the building, in the same classroom learning and teaching as ‘normal’. To note, ‘normal’ may include wearing masks and other important safety aspects, and normal will definitely mean new ways to support the social-emotional and mental health needs for our students (and staff!). It will also mean working to increase joy, and intentionally accelerate deep and meaningful learning. In that sense ‘normal’ will mean better, stronger and more loving and united than ever. We know we need it. Please join us to learn and discuss this better ‘normal’ in our ‘Fall Family Forecast’ meeting on June 3rd at 6:00pm. This will also include an overview of the fall and updates to include: new (more) teachers joining Hardy, new (more) elective offerings and new (more) classroom spaces! I will also do my best to answer any additional questions related to our full fall return and/or other Hardy community matters. All returning, new and POTENTIAL Hardy families are invited to attend! Here is the link: Fall Family Forecast.
Additionally for our families who have not yet enrolled with us -please do so ASAP! This allows you to access our Course Selection Form for the fall and supports us in planning to manage class size effectively. Please reach out to our enrollment team ASAP so you can secure your spot!
