Superintendent Update
Dear Nashoba Community,
Well, that was a hot week!!! It took all summer to get here and boy it did not disappoint. I want to send a huge shout out to our educators for monitoring the conditions of the day and making necessary adjustments to teaching and learning where it was warranted. I also want to thank our facilities team for supporting our schools as well. Most of the buildings in our school system are air conditioned, but the Florence Sawyer School is the one building that is not universally air conditioned. Mr. Bates and a team of educators developed a plan to take advantage of large air conditioned spaces like the auditorium to provide people with relief. Thank you to all the people who worked together as a team.
To highlight our website this week I would like to point you in the direction of our School Committee and School Building Committee web pages. There you will find archived information from meetings, important documents, and policy manuals. The School Building Committee web page has all of the governance requirements and a link to the informational website on the building project. To learn more about the role of our School Committee and the School Building Committee, click on the following link.
Have a great weekend everyone. Next week looks to be much cooler.
Peace,
Kirk Downing

Innovation Pathways Planning Survey
Exciting Developments on the Horizon!
Nashoba Regional High School is currently in the planning stages of exploring the creation of an Innovation Pathways Program in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and MassHire.
The Innovation Pathways program would expand career exploration opportunities for Nashoba High School students by providing students with opportunities to engage in relevant, real-world learning experiences in a given field. Students enrolled in an Innovation Pathway Program would have the opportunity to:
- Partake in a high-quality career immersion experience
- Attain industry-recognized credentials in their chosen field
- Engage in college and career planning activities
- Enroll in college-level courses to prepare for career advancement
- Elevate their learning through internships or capstone projects
We are currently seeking input from students and families to gauge interest in future Innovation Pathways Programming at Nashoba. Surveys will be distributed to high school students next week with surveys to current 7th and 8th grade families to follow. We ask that families speak with their child and complete the survey as appropriate. This information will be critical to our current and future planning, and we thank you in advance for your time and attention.
