Notes from the Principal
As we learn more about SchoolSpeak, the staff and I, have been trying out some new reports the program offers - from a nurse's report to conduct reporting. This week we have tried out both. As a staff we will be using the conduct report for minor offenses including behavior and out of uniform. When a teacher fills out this report a copy is sent to the parents, Mr. Semcken and I. In the report, there is a section for the teachers to fill out comments about the offense, the consequences, should there be any, and a spot for parents to acknowledge that they viewed the report. These reports do not follow the student from year to year or to high school, they are used for staff as data to look for patterns to support the student. Reports will be emailed to parents to see. If the behavior warrants a parent and teacher conversation, teachers and administration will email or call the parents. As always, please do not hesitate to contact the school with any questions about these reports. Our number one goal is open communication.
As we enter Thanksgiving week, I would like to take a moment to thank each of our Montini families for entrusting your child in our care. We are thankful for our students who come to school everyday ready to learn - they give us a daily reminder of what is important and why they are here. We are thankful for the support of our parents in creating an outstanding partnership for our students. We are thankful for our teachers, assistants, bus drivers, secretaries, and support staff who really care about student achievement and have the best interests of our students at heart. We are also thankful for our volunteers who enthusiastically contribute so much to our school. We are a truly blessed community!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving break!
