We Need Your Permission For Your Child's Summer iPad Use
We are preparing for the end of school and wanted to let you know that our Kindergarten - 4th grade students will have the opportunity to keep their iPad over the summer. We will be sending home some summer learning opportunities that can be completed on an iPad. In order for your child to be allowed to keep their device, each parent MUST let us know whether or not you give your child permission to keep their device. A link is provided below for you to indicate if you give permission or decline this opportunity. PERMISSION FORM MUST BE COMPLETED BY 5/24 - 3:00 pm (only submit form one time)
Please click here to let us know if you do or do not want your child to have their device sent home this summer!
Even If you DO NOT want your child to keep their device over the summer, please complete this form, indicating that you decline. If you decline, your child's device will be collected at the end of this school year and it will be redistributed to them when they return to school in August. Any student who does not have a permission form submitted will NOT be allowed to keep their device and their iPad will be collected at the end of the year. These students will receive their device back at the beginning of next year.
** Any Kindergarten - 4th grade student who is not returning to Cannon next year will have their device collected at the end of this school year and will not be allowed to take their device home. If you have previously indicated that your K-3 child will be attending another school in GCISD next year, they will be allowed to take it home, with parent permission. In this case, these students will bring their new device with them to the campus in GCISD that they will attend in the 2018-2019 school year.
** Please note that 5th graders will turn in their laptops at the end of this school year and will be issued a new device in middle school.
We are very excited to be able to provide your student the opportunity to continue learning on their iPad throughout the summer! If you have any questions, please contact your student’s teacher.

The parking lot will still be accessible, but expect there to be a LOT of congestion in this area. Expect this lane closure to continue for the remainder of the school year. All current students have been given an account. Students will get their account information during the week of May 7. The challenge begins May 7, 2018 and ends September 7, 2018. NEWS FROM GCISD
Mustang-Panther Stadium Construction Update From GCISD Superintendent
As we wrap up another great school year in GCISD, we are already looking ahead to next fall and the re-opening of Mustang Panther Stadium. I am sure that most of you have observed the progress on the facility while driving down Highway 26, but I am also sure that many of you have asked the question, “will this be ready by August?”
This year, Texas had a significant amount of rain, compounded with high winds, which has unfortunately delayed the completion date for the project. We have been working diligently with our football coaches and their respective opponents to make any necessary adjustments to the schedule. As a result, we have made the following changes:
Week One:
August 30: Grapevine v. Azle at Dragon Stadium
August 31: Colleyville Heritage v. North Forney at Dragon Stadium
Week Two:
September 7: Grapevine v. Abilene Cooper at Apogee Stadium (UNT)
September 7: Colleyville Heritage v. Carroll at Dragon Stadium
Week Three:
September 13: Colleyville Heritage v. Trinity at Pennington Field
September 14: Grapevine v. Northwest at Northwest Stadium
Week Four:
September 21: Bye week for both teams
At this time, the first planned home game for the 2018 season is the Colleyville Heritage homecoming game against Newman Smith High School on September 28.
We understand that this is not ideal for our families, fans and especially our players; however, the weather and its impact on construction is beyond our control. We have worked with neighboring districts to have great places for our students to perform and I am confident that our students, fans and community will show up and support our teams during these first few weeks of the season.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during the stadium construction. It will all be worth it when we are enjoying the performances from our students at the new Mustang Panther Stadium!
