Feeling Grateful
We appreciate our Williams community coming out to support our Wildcats during the October Costume Parade. Also, thanks for visiting with our counseling team, social worker team and myself during our monthly Coffee with the Principal / Cafecito con la Directora. It's always a pleasure being able to visit with our families. Fortunately, we will have more opportunities for you to visit with us this month too!
We are also very grateful to everyone for your cooperation and understanding as we relocated our arrival entrance to the blue side doors and continue enforcing our parking lot closure times for the safety of our students and families. Unfortunately, we've had some very close calls between drivers and pedestrians...even I was almost hit while crossing children in the parking lot crosswalk! Please be advised that our school driveway will continue to be closed at the following times:
- ARRIVAL: Monday-Friday - 7:45-8:00 AM
- DISMISSAL: M/T/Th/F - 2:10-2:40 PM
- EARLY DISMISSAL WEDNESDAY: Wednesdays - 12:20-12:55 PM
November is going to keep us hopping! So far, we have planned our T1 Family Picnic, 5th graders will be participating in the CA Healthy Kids Survey, all grades will be participating in end of the trimester assessments, fundraiser deliveries will take place, Thanksgiving Break will be here soon and parent-teacher conferences are scheduled to begin during the last week of the month. Wow...that's a lot!
In exciting news, we will be celebrating "feeling grateful" this month. As part of our "Feeling Grateful" campaign , our Student Council, counseling partners and social worker partners have organized the Williams Canned Food Drive. They invite our Wildcats and community to please donate one canned food item. These items will be donated to the Food Closet managed by our Healthy Start social worker team. Please see the flyer below for more information on the food drive.
We are grateful for everyone's generosity, cooperation and support. Go, Team Wildcats!!!
Ms. Granado, School Principal
Character Counts Trait - Citizenship
This month we will be celebrating the character trait of "citizenship." We invite staff and students to wear PURPLE tops/shirts, bottoms, hats, socks and shoes on Character Counts Fridays this month.
Citizenship: Help make things better • Respect authority and obey laws • Protect the environment • Be active in the community
Veterans Day - NO SCHOOL 11/11/2022
Williams School will be closed in honor of the Veterans Day Holiday. There will be no classes for students on Friday, 11/11/2022.
Triple P Parenting Workshops
We are offering free Triple P parenting classes for our parents and caregivers. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong and healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior and prevent problems from developing. All classes are free and available via Zoom. Counselor Hernandez is currently offering a Triple P series in Spanish but is reaching out to parents who would be interested in parenting classes offered in English. If interested, please email Counselor Hernandez at lhernandez@hueneme.org or leave her a message at (805) 488-3541.
