Family Hawk Talk
Week of August 21
Monday, August 21 is the First Day of School!
7:40am-2:40pm
We are excited to welcome our students back to school on Monday! Please take a few minutes to read through the information here to ensure a successful first day for all.
When students arrive in the morning, they should go to the cafeteria for breakfast/social time or the gym for social time. Students will be released from those locations by the 7:35am bell. Once the bell rings, students can go to their lockers and their first hour class. We will have staff available to help everyone find their way.

Student ID Badges
Students will be using their ID badges again this year to access the school buildings on campus. Sixth graders and new students will be given a badge during the first week of school. Returning 7th and 8th graders should locate and bring their badge with them on the first day. Can't find your badge from last year? We will print a new one for you.
Attendance
Regular and consistent attendance is so important for success in school. The goal for each student is to be in school at least 90% of the year. Please follow these recommendations for a great year:
- Try to schedule appointments outside of the school day. If you do need to schedule appointments during the school day, please still plan on being at school before and/or after the appointment if possible.
- Illness does happen! Please keep your child home if they have any of these symptoms:
- fever over 100.4 within the last 24 hours without medicine
- severe cold symptoms
- vomiting or diarrhea
- sore throat
- unexplained cough/shortness of breath
- signs of conjunctivitis (pinkeye)
- If your child contacts you during the school day and complains of not feeling well, please have them see the nurse. She will communicate with you to determine if your child should be sent home.
