Dear Stonybrook parents and caregivers,

As the weather begins to get warmer and student's sense summer break on the near horizon, it can be more difficult for students to stay focused. With COVID creating challenges for us all during the past 12 months it is vital that all students come to school every day or on (hybrid days) unless they are sick, and put forth the effort to grow academically and social emotionally. Thank you for partnering with us to help ensure that our students are coming to school every day, following CORE expectations and working hard in class.

2021 WCHS Summer PE Information

2021 Summer School In-Person PE Classes

This year we are currently planning for an in-person instructional model where students will attend in-person each day from June 7, 2021-June 30, 2021. Courses will be offered at no cost to incoming Warren Central High School freshmen. Transportation will be available before and after school for students who request transportation.

Summer school dates: June 7th-30th (18 school days)
Summer school schedule

Period 1 7:15-10:45

Period 2 10:50-2:20

Summer school registration will begin on Monday, March 8, 2021 @ 9:00 AM.

Students will receive an email with the summer school registration link @ 9:00 AM. Students will complete the registration form to indicate they will be attending summer school, however, unlike previous years, students will not indicate which classes they wish to take. After receiving the registration information, the student’s high school counselor will enroll the student in the required course and notify the student of his/her schedule. Kindergarten Kick-Off

Incoming kindergarten students (age five before October 1) and their families are invited to attend Kindergarten Kick-off on Thursday, April 19, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., happening at all nine of our elementary school locations. Take a school tour, meet our kindergarten team, and get all of your questions answered about Kindergarten.
Online Enrollment opens April 5.

Moorhead Community Resource Center Easter Egg Hunt

The Moorhead Community Resource Center will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on March 24 at 5 p.m. for our students, Pre-K through 4th grade! Limited to 200 students. RSVP to cmodiset@warren.k12.in.us to reserve your spot!
Tri-M, at WCHS, is collecting items for a toiletry give-away the same evening. Providers will be present to share information with our families.

Food Distribution

Now that our students are returning to school, we will be making a couple adjustments to our food distribution schedule. Virtual and Hybrid families can pick up food on Tuesdays from either 8:00 - 9:30 AM or 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street. This Friday will be our last distribution at Raymond Park Intermediate Middle School and Warren Central High School.

Tech Support

To increase our tech support for students and families, we are expanding our technology help desk hours at Moorhead Community Resource Center. Starting next week, hours will be M-F from 7:30 - 8:30 AM and 11:00 - 1:00 PM. K-4 VIRTUAL students with iPad issues should be brought here. Chromebooks can still be brought to any of the three Intermediate Middle Schools during school hours, 9:00 - 4:00, Monday - Friday or the Chromedesk at the High School during 1st and 2nd period, Monday - Friday. If for some reason you are not able to access the above times and locations, you can also submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ by clicking on Technology Tab under the Explore Tab and then select Parent Tech Info.

Parent Recommendation form for 2021-2022 High Ability Program

The High Ability Program Parent Recommendation Form for the 2021-2022 school year is now available through March 26! Students are identified for the program based on state and District criteria, including achievement test scores, student ability, and parent and teacher recommendations. Parent recommendations are considered but do not guarantee placement in the High Ability Program. For placement consideration, please submit a parent recommendation form below.

If your child is going to be absent from school

I would like to remind our students and families that attendance may look different depending on your model. That being said, attendance is an expectation and a critical indicator of a student's success in school. If a student is going to be absent from IN-PERSON or VIRTUAL, please make sure you contact your child’s school.

Stadium/Gymnasium Bag Policy

We are committed to your safety and enjoyable experience in our Stadium/Gymnasium. The following items are permitted in our facility:

 One clear plastic or vinyl bag that does not exceed 12 inches (height) x 6 inches (depth) x
12 inches (length) or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag.

 An exception may be made for any items necessary for medical purposes, subject to
search.

 Small clutch purse NO LARGER than 6 inches by 9 inches.

The following items are prohibited in our facility:

 Backpacks and sports/duffel bags will not be permitted

 Drawstring bags will not be permitted

 Purses and tote bags will not be permitted

 Diaper bags will not be permitted. Parents with infants or toddlers may carry a clear gallon
size bag with necessary items for their child.

 Coolers, outside food and drinks will not be permitted.

All items are subject to inspection. Thank you so much for your support and cooperation.
