We Are Byron USD
Stronger Together, Cultivating Success For All
Message from our Superintendent
It is an honor to be the Superintendent of Byron USD. It warms my heart to be part of such a caring community that continues to find ways to support our schools with generous donations of supplies and time helping with school functions, site committees, PTA/PTSA, and in our classrooms. Thank you!
My favorite part of my job is visiting our school sites and interacting with our incredible students, staff and families. I've been impressed with the level of student engagement, kindness, enthusiasm and collaborative learning opportunities happening each day as we learn and grow together! When I am in classrooms, the students are eager to share their thinking with me and are so proud of their accomplishments. I am proud of them and our staff for creating learning environments where students are encouraged to try new things and learn from their mistakes by embracing a positive growth mindset. The conversations and insights into the learning that students share with me truly makes me smile. I've enjoyed being part of site celebrations, staff meetings, EMS Huddle and schoolwide assemblies. Our district-wide focus on Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is creating a safer environment for students and providing the consistent structure required to foster social, behavioral and academic growth for our students.
I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all of our families for sharing the gift of your child with us and for being a partner with our teachers, administrators a support staff to make our district the best it can be. Please enjoy our WE ARE BYRON video that we created to launch our theme for this year!
WE ARE BYRON, STRONGER TOGETHER: Cultivating success for ALL!
Have a wonderful week,

School Traffic Safety is a Community Priority!
We encourage all drivers to be aware, patient, and considerate while driving by following these key points:
- Reduce your speed (10 mph in parking lots and 25 mph on roads when children are present)
- Obey all traffic laws (Refrain from texting and driving)
- Watch for children and yield to all pedestrians crossing the road or getting to vehicles
- Never pass a vehicle stopped for pedestrians
- Wait for School Crossing Guards to completely cross and obey all staff signals
- Avoid using cell phones during drop off and pick up time to give your full attention to safety
We appreciate your support and effort to help keep our students, families and staff safe!
Byron HWY Road Construction Project Update
Please be mindful of the ongoing construction on the intersection of Byron Hwy and Byer Road. The planning for this project started four years ago to support the flow of traffic and pedestrian safety. The plan includes; creating a left turn pocket, pedestrain-crossing blinking beacons, widening of the road and a concrete island to make crossing safer for our students. We ask that you allow for extra time to get to and from EMS, drive slowly and proceed with caution around these areas. Please click here for more detailed information about this project.
