March is READING Month

Dear Parents,

I can not begin to tell you how excited I am for the month of March. During March we celebrate March is reading month and we have some many fun things planned! Today, we did both a Reading Month Kick-Off Assembly, as well as, a Glow Party. The Glow Party lasted 25 minutes per grade level and students were able to come to the gym, dance, sing, and just have fun!

During March, we have dress up days three times a week. We always dress up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Next week our dress up days are as follows.

Monday - Twin Day

Wednesday - Flannel/Plaid Day

Friday - Under the Great Lakes Day (dress like a fish, sailor, pirate, Sponge Bob, or anything under the sea!

Also, next week Herrick District Library will be meeting with each grade level to share exciting new books that have recently been released to get our students excited about reading! There is much more planned for March and I can't wait to celebrate reading with our students!

Hair Love

All students will have the book Hair Love read aloud to them next week. This book will be in a book battle vs Say Something.

The Glow Party was a great way to kick off our March is Reading Month fun!

Miles of Smiles

Dear Parents,

If your child/children have the following qualifications, please complete the dental consent form for each of your children, so that Ottawa County Miles of Smiles may provide dental services for them.

The Miles of Smiles (MOS) dental program was established in 1995 and provides dental services for children at approximately 30 Ottawa County Schools annually. The MOS mobile dental unit will come to Great Lakes to provide dental services during school hours. The mobile unit is 40 feet long, has 2 patient rooms, digital x-ray, waiting area and a wheel chair lift.
