Go ahead and bookmark or star the links you need when you're in Google Docs. Because they are live links, you will always see the latest version of that file. The link to the Mandatory Tutorial lists, for example, will always show the current list, you will not have to re-bookmark the link after each grading period.

Having your students create their own accounts on different websites can be a pain in the rumpus. They may have to verify, which means they have to go back and check their Gaggle emails, they may not use the correct credentials, which means you can't go back and help them get in when they forget their login, or they may have been absent the day you made accounts and can't figure out how to get it done. SO - anytime you see a "Sign in with Google" or "G+" option, take advantage! The students already have GoogleDocs accounts and can jump right in with the click of a button.

There are several free tool on the web for charts. A breakdown of these three options:

mind42 requires students to create an account, and then verify it through their email. The building process is more difficult to figure out, but the collaboration feature is simple and allows students to work together.

Lucidchart accounts are easy to create by clicking on the Google button. Maps are easy to create and edit. There are templates to choose from and multiple styles and types of items to add.

Popplet is aesthetically pleasing and has fewer options to choose from. This makes it easy to figure out, but can limit your maps. Popplet's simplicity is great for fast projects, but it can be glitchy.

Of the three options listed, I always recommend Lucidchart. Give it a try!
