Message from the Principal
As we close out this week, we welcome a new month - February. I don't know about you, but time is flying.
This month, Mrs. Lamonica, hosted our first ever Best Buddies meeting. The Best Buddies chapter at SES is focusing on building strong friendships. Students were selected to participate based on their demonstration of how to be a good friend. They are focusing on making a Friendship Rock Garden, and we are so excited to see their work this year. Hopefully, this small pilot program will grow into something wonderful for our school community.
Starting after February break, Preschool ABACUS will be moving to Studley. They are currently housed at Thacher. They will be using one of our spaces but should not impact us in any way. I wanted you to know, so you are aware of this change.
Our family survey is ready! Please see below for more information. We appreciate if you can take some time to fill it out. We take feedback seriously and want to use it to make our goals for our next School Improvement Plan.
Have a great week.
Mrs. Boyle
Family Survey - NOW OPEN
We are launching our family survey in the hopes of gathering data from all of you to help improve our school community. We are aiming for 100% participation because ALL voices matter. We know there are things we can do better, and we are always looking to improve. Please take some time to fill out the survey below. We will be communicating a lot about this, because it is extremely important to us.

Parent Night Out - Offered by the High School Student Council
On February 10, 2024, from 5-9 we are hosting our first ever Kids Night Out event. Student Council is providing parents/guardians a night out without children. Please see the flyer below for more information.
Special Space Themed Lunch - February 28th
Whitsons will be hosting a space themed lunch at Studley on February 28th. Please review the menu options. In addition to the items mentioned, there will also be 2 special "surprise" items for the students. You can find the details of these items below, so you are aware of the nutritional information. You can enlarge the pictures by clicking the expand icon.
There will be decorations and prizes and should be an "out of this world" experience for the kids!
Save the Date - A Night to Discover: APS Student Learning and Community Partnership Showcase
On March 14, 2024, from 6:00-7:30 PM, Attleboro Public Schools (APS) will host A Night to Discover: APS Student Learning and Community Partnership Showcase. Now in the second year of this annual event, this evening is an opportunity for APS staff, students, families, and community organizations to come together as students throughout the district display their learning experiences and local community resources share information about their services and programs. The goal of this event is to bring all stakeholders from the community together to celebrate student successes and share resources. More information to come soon. We look forward to seeing you there!
Field Trip to CTE
Some students in grades 3 and 4 are currently working with their teachers, Mrs. Salisbury and Ms. Gaspar, along with Mrs. Marcet and Mrs. Delpape on a coaching cycle focused on careers. Students have been researching careers and got to visit the CTE at the high school on Friday. It is so wonderful to have the high school right next to us, and our students were so excited to be there and learn hands on about different career paths as well as Attleboro High School offerings. I can't wait to see where this learning takes them...
Student Attendance Resources
Car Drop Off/Outdoor Play
As you know, our school day starts at 8:30AM. This means there are no staff members on duty to supervise students until 8:30AM. Several students are leaving their cars before 8:30AM to play. If you are allowing your child(ren) to leave your car and play before school, they must be supervised. Students cannot leave that area and go to the side or back of the building where they would be unsupervised. Thank you for your attention to this.
Grade 2 Swim Program
Our grade 2 swim program continues this week.
Monday - Desvoyaux
Wednesday - Patrone/Fallon
Friday - Burke/Fallon
Please remember to have your child wear their bathing suit and send in a dry pair of underwear. So far, everyone has been doing a great job, and the students are very excited! This is the last week of doubling classes. We will return to our regular schedule next week.
Community Resource and Support Liaison
Michelle Christopher, a Studley staff member, is also our Community Resource and Support Liaison. If you ever find yourself needing supports but do not know where to turn, she can help. Her role is to connect families with community resources that you may not know are even available. We are here to help each other, so please reach out to me if you would like to connect with Ms. Christopher. You can also reach out to her directly at mailto:mchristopher@attleboroschools.com.
Winter Weather
As the weather gets colder, we want to remind you that we will be going out to recess as often as we can. We will only be indoors if it is wet from rain/snow or if the "feels like" temperature is less than 25 degrees. Please send your child to school with warm clothing (hats, gloves and coats) to help students stay warm in the brisk cold air!
