Important Registration Information – Incoming 7th/8th grade
Mrs. Greggains and Mrs. Hudspeth are still working to make sure course selection for the 2020-2021 school year is up to date. Parents and students, please look on eSchool and view the 2020-2021 course requests for next year. These are found in HAC under the classes icon and schedule tab (requests are listed below your child’s current schedule). If there is anything that needs to be changed, you can do that between now and April 15th.
We want to give you the opportunity to review some information about our course classes from our instructional coaches. Please review the video HERE to learn more about our core classes here at Trent Middle School.
As mentioned in the math video, students who are in Math 7 or Pre-AP Math 7 took an Algebra Readiness Test (IAAT). A letter indicating the results of this test was sent home with students.
If you have any questions or want to make any changes to your child’s requests, please click this link to share your questions/concerns with a Trent counselor.

Character Trait of the Month
Growth Mindset
Enjoy working through this activity as a family.
Character Trait for April - GRIT
Each month, Frisco ISD targets one character strength that promotes the character development of the whole child. Social-emotional learning encourages harmonious relationships and independent thinking while also enabling students to achieve goals. Across the District, campuses facilitate character development through research-based practices while focusing on one key character strength.
Grit is the district character strength for this month. As a community, we are all practicing our grit as we navigate new challenges! You can encourage grit in your child by modeling it, celebrating it and enabling it.
Think of a time you used persistence and resilience to succeed. Share as a family or virtually with a friend.
After watching the video, think about the following:
~Do you think the people in the video had GRIT?
~How did the people in the video exhibit GRIT?
~Imagine if they didn't have GRIT. Would they have been as successful?
Students can view the above videos plus look at the guidance lesson on GRIT in the eLearning Lesson Plans under counseling.
STOPIT APP
Are you familiar with the StopIt App? Frisco ISD uses this free app to allow students to report bullying or other concerns directly and anonymously to their assistant principal. Help us keep our schools safe and fun places to be!
There is a link to the StopIt App on the Trent MS Website under links.
