Spirit week was a success! Students dressed up and had a great time with each other. Participation was fantastic and we ended the week with a pep assembly and dance party.

Next Week:

Monday - Oct 16th - A day. 7th grade field trip to icicle gorge for landforms & geology studies (full day)

Tuesday - Oct 17th - B day. Hearing and vision screening during the day for 7th grade only. Please bring eye glasses if you wear them. Picture Retake Day and Choir concert 7pm at the Nazarene Church

Wednesday - Oct 18th - A day.

Thursday - Oct 19th - B day.

Friday Oct 20th - A day.

Sign up to provide a dish for the teachers on conference night!

Parent–Teacher Conferences are coming up on October 26th & 27th. This is a great time for us parents to show our appreciation for all the time, energy and attention the IRMS teachers and staff give to each of their students. Please join us in helping to feed them dinner on Thursday 10/26! Plan to deliver your dish to the IRMS office no later than 4pm on 10/26. See the signup HERE for more details. Thank you!

Attention 7th grade parents – there are 2 more fieldtrips coming up this month!

Lucky 7th graders!! Ms. Forster, the 7th grade science teacher will be leading the students on 2 more geology field trips this month and what’s really cool is that she’s inviting parents to come and chaperone. Trips will be to the Peshastin Pinnacles on 10/25 and to Ancient Lakes on 10/30. Check out the signup HERE for more details and join if you can!

Our Winter Sport season starts with Boys Basketball at the end of October, followed by Girls Basketball and Wrestling right after Winter Break. 6th Grade Students are eligible for Wrestling this season. Families can sign up for one or more sports for the year through the FamilyID portal on the Athletics page of our school website. Just click on the FamilyID Register/2023-24 ICICLE RIVER MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS REGISTRATION buttons and follow the directions on each successive page.

"The Mountain Lion Way" is our school wide model of how we conduct business. Students earn tickets when any teacher or staff sees them being amazing! Fridays we collect the week's tickets during lunch and draw out names for various rewards. Last Friday, students were awarded an ice cream sundae if their names were drawn. IRMS students are growing academically and socially each day! We are so proud of them! Go Mountain Lions!

Have you seen our awesome water conservation project? On Monday the students heard a presentation on water conserving practices and on Tuesday each student planted one of 275 native plants into the planter boxes out front. Every single student had a part in this project from design to planting. Its pretty amazing to see it come together!! We will have the same presentation available to families on our website. We'll send the link out in our newsletter as soon as it is live.

Thank you to the amazing ASB and their fearless advisor Jenni Bunkelman for putting on the Monster Mash all school dance! We really appreciate all you parent volunteers who brought treats and chaperoned the event! If you want to get involved, please reach out to the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).
