20-21 Parking Passes Update
Parking passes will be distributed to students during the first week of school for those who have submitted their contracts and paid the parking fee. Students will be able to park in any spot in the student parking lot during the first week of school only (September 8-September 11). Students will begin parking in their assigned spots on Monday, September 14. You will receive an email confirmation that you have successfully met all requirements to receive a parking pass by August 31. Also, all students who are enrolled in the FIVE Virtual Academy will have to purchase a parking pass for $50 if they desire to park on campus at any time during school hours for this school year. Proof of Residence Is Due Now

DFHS is excited to announce we are now able to accept POR's electronically!!! Each year 3 Proofs of Residence are required to register. Click on the link below in order to enter your student(s) PORs for the 2020-2021 school year. Be prepared to upload your documents. If an affidavit is required, please visit the school website in order to print out and complete. Affidavits must be notarized before returning to us.

Meet our new school counselors
Mary Catherine Brown
I am originally from York, SC. Columbia quickly became home for me after attending USC. I was a classroom teacher for 10 years before switching over to school counseling; I now enjoy helping students navigate the tricky teenage years personally, socially, and academically. At home I enjoy being mom to 2 young daughters, exercising, cooking, and working on the next household DIY project with my husband.
Shenita Chapman
Shenita and Kevin live in Lexington with three beautiful children. Shenita is a proud graduate of Clemson University. At Clemson University, she holds numerous track and field accomplishments and school records. Shenita has a passion for helping students to achieve their highest potential with compassion and perseverance. Her highest degree is an Ed.S. in Education Administration from Fort Hays State University. Her current role as a school counselor is a life-long dream as her school counselor and coaches had the biggest impact on her life.

Changes after June 15 will be allowed for the reasons listed on page 2 of the District 5 Course Catalog.

The SC Honors College @UofSC invites students to enter the SC HS Writing Contest. Open to SC juniors & seniors. TOPIC: The topic is "How should we improve the state of South Carolina?" DEADLINE: Students must be residents of South Carolina. The deadline is September 25, 2020.
Cash prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250 will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners. The entries of finalists and winners will be showcased by the South Carolina Honors College on its website.
