National Association of Museum Schools
Arkansas Arts Academy is proud to announce it has been selected as one of only six schools in the country chosen to host a national team of leaders from the National Association of Museum Schools (NAMS). On May 9, 2024, AAA will welcome the national tour, as a project to build a first-of-its-kind library of best practices for schools across the country and AAA is incredibly honored to have been selected.
As a leader in the museum-school community, Arkansas Arts Academy is a rich source for ideas, strategies and tactics that NAMS plans to share with its educators nationwide. Exploratory teams will examine each school’s teaching initiatives, partnership structures, leadership strategies and the integration of museum style learning with classroom lessons. Each school’s creative tactics, successful strategies and proven models will be compiled into a comprehensive best practices field guide for museum model learning. An innovative, hands-on, experiential approach, museum education is spreading, with more than 50 schools in 15 states now adopting the successful model. In partnering with history, art and science museums, zoos, aquariums, gardens and environmental institutes, museum schools foster intellectual exploration and discovery by giving young people the chance to dig in, dive in and step into the roles of the people, places and subjects they study.
Other schools selected as host sites for the pioneer NAMS project include CREC Museum Academy in Bloomfield, Conn.; Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy in Goleta, Calif.; Grand Rapids Public Museum School in Grand Rapids, Mich.; Miami Children’s Museum Charter School in Miami, Fla.; and Normal Park Museum Magnet School, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
About NAMS, Founded in 2014, the National Association of Museum Schools (link to
https://www.museumschools.org) is the anchor that connects educators and museum professionals around the country. NAMS is dedicated to expanding the successful museum model to more classrooms and schools. Our schools partner with countless museums and organizations to bring learning to life for a diverse group of P-12 students.

Parent Partnership Opportunities
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to reach out to you with an opportunity to support Arkansas Arts Academy arts programs as we continue to nurture our student's artistic talents and creative spirit. Our commitment to fostering excellence in the arts is unwavering, as a strong arts education enriches the lives of our students and contributes to their personal growth and development. This sponsorship initiative allows us to partner with parents and sponsors by providing more to our students more meaningfully.
Sponsors may contribute to the overall arts programming or choose a specific arts department to support directly.
- Overall Arts Programming: Your generous donation will support a wide range of arts disciplines, including visual arts, music, dance, theater, and more. These funds will enhance our facilities, provide essential equipment and materials, and offer opportunities for students to engage with guest artists and performers.
- Arts Department Sponsorship: If you have a particular interest in a specific area of arts concentration, – such as visual arts, music, dance, theater, or any other discipline, you can donate to that area. This targeted support will enable us to develop and expand departments and provide our students with specialized training, resources, and experiences.
In appreciation of your support, we are pleased to inform you that the names of all sponsors and businesses will be prominently listed in programs for all arts events throughout the academic year. Your contribution, whether large or small, will significantly impact the quality of arts education we can provide at Arkansas Arts Academy.
When you choose to support the arts at our school at the $600 mark or above, your name or business will be prominently displayed on our "Wall of Appreciation" within the school premises as a tribute of your commitment to fostering creativity and artistic excellence among our students.
We understand that everyone's financial situation is unique, and we genuinely appreciate any support you can offer.
To participate in this sponsorship initiative, please visit our website at artsk12.org, submit your payments on mypaymentsplus, or complete the enclosed donation form and return it to the school office. Your donation is tax-deductible, and we will provide you with a receipt for your records.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to support Arkansas Arts Academy as we continue to educate and encourage your children through the arts. Together, we can ensure our students continue to thrive and excel in their artistic endeavors.
With warm regards,
Amy Kessler
