• NWEA Testing - Students completed testing in math, reading, and science last week.
• Half Day September 30th - Our first half day is this Friday, September 30th. Since we only have morning Tech Center this year, we will rotate between an A and B schedule. On B days, Tech Center students will not attend the Tech Center. The class schedule for half days will be emailed to students. This Friday is a B-schedule day with no Tech Center. Students will have lunch provided at school.
• Hoodie/Hat Day - This fundraiser was a big success. The proceeds will benefit the Kendrik and Kelsie Fire Recovery fund.
• Middle School spirit wear - Starting this week any middle school student who attends a middle school event and is wearing Morenci clothing, will get into the event for free. Spirit wear will be available for them at lunch and each event for $10.00 (wholesale cost).
• Science Teacher - We would like to welcome a new science teacher, Mr. Brian Evenson to our staff. He will be teaching Chemistry. Mr. Boesger will switch to teaching the Biology courses. Mr. Evenson will start on Tuesday, September 27th.
• Physical Education Teacher - Unfortunately, we have received another teacher resignation. Ms. Francoeur has accepted a job at Adrian College. Her last day will be October 7th. Once again, filling this position will be a top priority.
• Homecoming Floats - The high school students have started decorating their Homecoming Floats. They have come up with some terrific themes! Looking forward to seeing them during Homecoming Week!
• Parking Lot - It is quite disappointing that we rescheduled the senior parking lot painting. Fortunately, we have added an additional day. Friday, September 30th is a half day for students. Students will begin painting near the end of the half day. Students/families will now make payments via Venmo. This adjustment will allow students to make payments over time. The deadline for complete payment is now FEBRUARY 1st! I emailed the Venmo QR code to all seniors.
• Fall Conferences, Report Cards, and NWEA/MSTEP Parent Reports - Families can pick up fall report cards during the October 20th Fall Parent Teacher Conferences. The fall report card will include a Spring 2022 MSTEP parent report and a fall NWEA parent report. Please stop by the office before your conference to pick up these essential documents.

All are welcome to our first Dog Dinner @ the Pizza Box. We will present our school's Title I services at this meal. Title One is a federally funded grant offering various supports for our students. This will allow us to inform the community of those supports. Pepperoni and cheese pizza will be available free of charge.

*** Students will continue NWEA testing throughout the week. Students will take assessments in math, ELA, and science.
