Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!

Cougar Family,


My name is Curtis Gladden, and I have the honor of being the new principal at Southwest Junior High. I hope that you have had a wonderful summer break, and I look forward to meeting you and your students this upcoming year. The faculty and staff are excited about the beginning of a new school year. Your student is in for a tremendous experience, from extracurricular activities, to Advanced classes, SWJH has a tradition of excellence established by great faculty, staff, students, and parents.

Important: Please Update Registration before Aug. 8th
We plan to hand chromebooks out during the first few days of school. We need Acceptable Use Policies (AUA) signed prior to giving a chromebook to your child. This form is included in the Registration Gateway.

I am very excited about this opportunity to serve the students, families and faculty of SWJH. A little about myself, I am a native of Berryville Arkansas, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a graduate of University of Arkansas. I have been married to my wife Jennifer for 25 years and we have two children, Carlee Ann and Will, both of which attend Springdale Schools.

I'm thrilled about this upcoming school year. We have lots of exciting things happening at Southwest, and we are eager to get this year started. I'm passionate about ensuring every student feels welcomed and is supported at Southwest. A little bit about myself: I am married and have three kiddos of my own. I enjoy reading, watching movies and hiking.
