The boys' varsity team came into the new year on a five game winning streak. They have continued their winning ways thus far in 2023.
On Tuesday 1/3 the boys defeated Ocean City 61-41 and were led by DJ Germann's 25 points.
Last night (1/5) the Eagles went down the parkway to Middle Twp and won a defensive battle 41-37. It was a team effort, but Jay-Nelly Reyes led the Eagles in Scoring with 12 points.
The boys end a tough three game stretch tomorrow (1/7) against South Jersey power Camden Catholic in the Seagull Classic hosted at Holy Spirit High School.
GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL

EHT Defeated Millville 43-25. The Lady Eagles relied on a strong defensive effort to hold Millville to 25 points. EHT was led in scoring by Lyla Brown who scored 13 points. The following players rounded out the scoring: Lindsay Dodd 9 points, Averie Harding 8, Ava Kraybill 6, and Katie Keenan 6.

EHT girls defeated Hammonton 48-39. EHT was led in scoring by sophomore Lyla Brown who finished with a game high 15 points. Fellow sophomores Ava Kraybill and Averie Harding scored 13 and 14 points respectively.

EHT 36 @ Millville 10
EHT traveled to Millville on Tuesday for the first game after winter break and came together for a nice team win. Samantha Battersby, Mariah Newman, and Skyer Wood combined for 34 of the Eagle's points. Player of the game: Samantha Battersby

EHT 37 vs Hammonton 7
EHT hosted the Blue Devils on Thursday and controlled the game from the tipoff. All players contributed defensively and were able to adjust and play different positions throughout the game. Mariah Newman had an explosive first half with 17 points. Reese Weiss was able to mix it up and take over at a guard position late in the game to close out the game. WRESTLING
The Wrestling team lost a tight match to Vineland last night 35-39. Winning for EHT were Tyler Thomas (pin 1:42), Xavier Fedeli (pin 1:29), Peter Steed (Dec 7-2), Matthew Dugan (MD 10-), Vincent Faldetta (forfeit), Nick Faldetta (pin 2:30), and Aiden Speratore (Dec 8-3). The team is now 2-4 and will compete in the Williamstown Duals tomorrow.

Fernwood Girls’ basketball beat Galloway 28-6. The team took it easy on Coach Kraybill so he wouldn’t make them run sprints at their travel practice. Next up is Davies next Wednesday.

MIDDLE SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS REGISTRATION:
Middle School Winter 1 Sports kicked off their regular season this week.
Winter 1 sports include Boys' and Girls' Basketball, Wrestling, and Unified Bowling.
Winter 2 sports include Co-ed Volleyball and Unified Basketball. Registration opened on Dec. 15 and practices will begin February 13. THE DEADLINE FOR WINTER 2 REGISTRATION IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD.
