Smooth start to the year
I don't know how you feel, but the start of the school year has gone quite smoothly here at school. The students and staff are building relationships and learning procedures and expectations and smiling, a lot. It's been great getting into classrooms, learning about the students and staff, and imagining how the entire school year will come together. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you want to talk about your child, or have questions or concerns.

Communication methods, and Principals' Chat
In an effort to keep you informed about all that is happening in our school, there are a number of ways to "be in the know". We have social media apps, like Twitter and Facebook, with links on my website, http://www.merton.k12.wi.us/faculty/PosickJ/. You can also sign up for information via text message using Remind. Simply text @mrposi to 262-287-9360. Daily announcements, links to weekly smores, and many other informational items can be found there, too. I'll be sharing more about these communication methods in our first Principals' Chat on Thursday, September 10th at the 3:00 PTO meeting at the Primary School. I hope to see you there.

Family tips in the digital age
As you are all aware, our school, and district, has wonderful access to technology. Thanks to our forward thinking staff, the technology is infused nearly seamlessly into classroom instruction. Our students learn about digital citizenship here at school and sometimes families ask me for guidance regarding technology in the home. Here is a link to an article written by Kasey Bell providing some tips for you at home.

New this year is an opportunity for our students to apply for grants, too. More details will be provided as the collection formally gets underway in October.
