The San Joaquin Creekside PTSA Nominating Committee is currently looking for interested parents to serve on the 2022-2023 San Joaquin Creekside PTSA Executive Board. If you are looking for a wonderful volunteer experience, Irvine Unified Council PTA provides training! Students can also join PTSA as an officer or volunteer and receive volunteer hours. It's a great way to learn how non-profits run and see what happens behind the scenes in your PTSA! For our PTSA to exist, we need to fill the top 3 positions. Open positions are as follows:

If your high school student is interested in drone flight, this is the program you don't want to miss!

DRONES! This is a great FREE program for our HS students. It is a drone pilot class offered at Coastline community college.

The PTSA was proud to have students represent Creekside High School and San Joaquin High School respectively for the annual Irvine Unified Council Student Advocacy Program. This PTA program selects students from each of our 7 high schools to learn about educational issues culminating in a day trip to Sacramento to visit legislators and discuss the students concerns around education. Kru and Sathvik traveled to our capital on Wednesday, March 16th They are pictured here with Superintendent Terry Walker, IUSD School Board Trustee Lauren Brooks, and San Joaquin Creekside PTSA President Connie Stone.

Irvine Unified Council PTA is proud to announce the following scholarship opportunities for Creekside and San Joaquin IVA seniors:

IUCPTA Senior Scholarship … Due April 22, 2022

Availability:

IUCPTA is pleased to offer one (1) $500 Scholarship for each of the 7 Irvine High Schools- Creekside, Irvine Virtual Academy at San Joaquin, Irvine High, Northwood High, Portola High, University High, and Woodbridge High. The scholarship will go to graduating seniors and will be used towards continued education after graduation. Recipients must attend an accredited college/university, community college, trade or technical school within the first year following high school graduation.

Qualifications:

This scholarship recognizes students who are PTSA members and whom have performed service activities inside and outside of school.

Applicant must:

- Be a current student in good standing at one of the IUSD High Schools

- Be a current PTSA member and attach a legible copy of applicant's current PTSA card or proof of membership for current school year

- Submit this scholarship application to be received no later than April 22, 2022. APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF RECEIVED AFTER DUE DATE.

Selection Process:

All application forms will be reviewed by a selected group which may include 1 Principal/Administrator, 1 teacher/PTSA Executive Board member, and members of IUCPTA Executive Board. The recipients will be notified via email by May 13, 2002.

Congratulations to all of our students who submitted entries for our 2021-2022 Reflections Program!

Our theme this year was: "I Will Change the World by...."

Student's entries were awarded Honorable Mention, Award of Merit or the highest PTSA award: The Award of Excellence.

The following four student's entries were awarded the Award of Excellence:

-Monica Pal won the Award of Excellence for her Photography entry entitled "The Power of the Sun"

-Neil Pal won the Award of Excellence for his Literature entry entitled "Our Words Can Change the World"

-Caroline Robbins won the Award of Excellence for her Literature entry entitled "The City of Selection"

-Jaehee Jeung won the Award of Excellence for his Visual Arts entry entitled "A Ray of Hope"

These entries were forwarded on to the Irvine Unified Council of PTA's Reflections judges but were not awarded at that level. All of our participants will be receiving their certificates via mail and our Award of Excellence entries will also receive an In and Out Burger Gift Certificate from a generous PTSA donor.

We are excited that ASB is almost finished with our new logo and PTSA will be offering spiritwear as soon the new logo is approved.

Membership and Donations - Your support is crucial to our success. Please consider joining our PSTA. Your voice makes a difference by being an advocate for all our students. Your membership and donations help PTA fund amazing student programs like Reflections, Red Ribbon Week, Fall Festival, Teacher Appreciation Week, and more!

Members enjoy many benefits including Membership Perks and voting rights at our meetings. Our Membership Goal is 100 members for the year. We encourage everyone to become a member (parents, grandparents, any family members, friends and neighbors just to name a few). Donations of any amount are always welcome.
