#PointerNation is your WIAA Regional Team Wrestling Champion for the second straight year and will wrestle in the Team Sectional Tuesday at New Lisbon! In addition to the team title, Mineral Point advances twelve to the Individual Sectional next Saturday at Westby. Congrats to:

Let's hear it for our #PointerNation Girls Basketball Team, claiming sole possession of the SWAL Conference Championship Friday, their 4th title in a row! With the postseason quickly approaching, MP is currently undefeated and ranked 1st in the state in Division 4. Keep up the fantastic work!

Congrats to Oliver Benson, Jazmine Cool, Marcus Cool, Ellie Janetka, Callie Pierce, Abby Webb, and James Webb who participated in UW-Platteville's Tri-State Honors Band Friday!

We enjoyed our recent visit by Brad the Book Guy from CESA 3! Mr. Van Epps shared many reasons why to be a reader and some great book recommendations! He even gave away some free books courtesy of a grant from the Richland Center Walmart! Thank you!

Mrs. Radtke's 2nd grade readers were able to celebrate World Read Aloud Day with M.O. Yuksel via Zoom! She read aloud her book and answered their many questions about being an author.

Last week was Skills USA Week as part of Career & Technical Education Month! Thanks to this hardworking crew for the treats at lunch!

Annie and Ellie Robinson received their Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association All-State plaques this week! Ellie was 1st Team All-State and had the 11th fastest time in all three divisions. A big congrats to gymnast Ashlie Baumgartner! Ashlie was named the sole recipient of the Lisa Steger Memorial Scholarship at Saturday's invite in Platteville. This scholarship is given to one senior gymnast each year that is known for their leadership, sportsmanship, and spirit of competition. This award is determined by the SWC coaches. Receiving this award is a testament to Ashlie's character and friendly nature which extends beyond her teammates. She is the fifth Dodgeville/Mineral Point/Iowa-Grant gymnast to receive this honor, joining Sateash Berge, Torrie Tibbits, Cassie Look, and Miah Lemanski.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the CDC recommend that anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or who has had close contact with someone with COVID-19 be tested. The test for COVID-19 involves a quick swab of the inside of the nose. The school is working with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on providing rapid antigen and PCR tests in school. If you would like to have the option for your child to get a PCR or antigen test at school, they must bring the attached consent form signed by a parent/guardian if they are under 18 years old. You would be contacted before any testing would occur and only if indicated per school policy. This form is being distributed now, to be collected in advance so that in the event your child needs to be tested, we would not have to wait for the form to be returned during the middle of a work or school day.
