Early Release Day

Reminder that next Thursday, November 16th, is an early release day for parent-teacher conferences. If you have NOT signed up for a conference and would like one, please reach out to your child's guidance counselor or homeroom teacher. Student will be release at 12:30pm.

PTO Apparel

All PTO Apparel has been distributed, if you do not receive your order by Monday, please email coakleynorwoodPTO@gmail.com for help!

Wrestling

Wrestling will start soon on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at CMS. Interested students should attend the meeting during Mustang Block next Tuesday, November 14th in the cafeteria.

Swimming - Grade 8 Only

Attention 8th graders, the Norwood High School Varsity Swim & Dive team is expanding to include 8th graders this season. All students with previous swim experience or students interested in swimming or diving are welcome to try out for the Varsity Boys & Girls teams on Monday, November 27th at Blue Hills Pool. In order for students to try-out, all students must be registered through the Aspen Parent Portal. Additionally athletes must pay a user fee and have an updated physical. Our current pool time is scheduled to be at the Blue Hills Pool from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. starting November 27th. Athletes will be asked to arrive at the pool facility at 5:15 P.M. to stretch and participate in dryland activities run by the captains. Transportation to the pool is not provided by the school and carpooling with other athletes is encouraged.

Hello parents and guardians,

The yearbook club would greatly appreciate it if you could help us out by sending us a cute, fun, or embarrassing baby picture of your 8th grader. Please be sure to include your child's first and last name, as well as their team in the email. You can send your pictures to cmsyearbook@norwood.k12.ma.us. The deadline for submitting a baby photo is Friday December 1st.

Your 8th grade Yearbook Club

One of the PTO's most successful fundraisers is the Winner Wheel- purchase a raffle ticket, spin the wheel, (hopefully) win a prize! Even if you're not the winner, you're donating money for enrichment and events at Coakley. Past items have included Apple Watch, Air Pods, and a TV.

WE NEED YOU- do you have an item that would be perfect for the Winner Wheel- tickets to an event? gift card to a friend/family owned restaurant? Are you willing to purchase an item that could be used for the Winner Wheel? Please contact the PTO at coakleynorwoodpto@gmail.com to make a donation or with any questions.

BC Splash is a program where middle and high school students can take classes taught by Boston College Students. This semester, we have classes on everything from the history of the Vietnam War to Surfing 101. The program is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore their interests and have a great day on the Boston College campus. This semester, the program will take place on Sunday, November 19th, from 10 am - 3 pm, and lunch will be provided. You can register by visiting our website at https://bcsplash.learningu.orgor using the QR code in the poster below.

The majority of bus passes have been sent out. Bus drivers will start asking students for passes on Monday afternoon. Each year, parents must register for the bus. If your student has registered for the bus but has NOT received a bus pass, we have asked them to come to the main office and add their name to a list that we will check and provide to drivers.

Due to overcrowding, students may only ride their own bus until further notice.

November 16th - Early release at 12:30pm Parent Teacher Conferences

November 22nd - Early release at 12:30pm Thanksgiving

November 23rd and 24th - No School Thanksgiving

Coakley PTO

The Coakley PTO would like to welcome everyone back to school! The PTO is a parent/teacher organization that helps fund a variety of activities at CMS from assemblies, to field trips, to classroom projects and more. We would love for everyone to be a part of the PTO!

PTO meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm both virtually and in person. The dates are listed below a link to the meeting online is sent out the day of the meeting.
