Proposal for Community Center
Response to RFP by District 15
A Proposal to Create a New Center to Support our Children
The new proposed Center supports current research by the creation of an environment where wraparound services are available to the whole child and whole community. The focus will be on community involvement, family engagement, academic support, extended year services, counseling and psychological services.
The additional resources the District will be able to provide to children and families through the Center will remove barriers to success by creating additional programs and activities that are research-based to increase opportunities for our youth This will be accomplished by the provision of extended services in a safe and secure environment where high quality resources are available to build the capacity of youth and their families. This additional resource for children and families expands upon the District’s experience.
Within the new District 15 Center we would look to provide a variety of services including:
Reading Center
Vocational Center
Hunger and Health Center
Social/Emotional Center
College and Career Center
Early Education/Head Start
English as a New Language Center
Parent Resource Center
Athletic Center including PAL and N. Lawrence/Inwood Soccer Programs
