PARENTLINK MASS NOTIFICATION TRANSITION
Starting this summer, the district will transition from its current mass notification system (School Messenger AKA Skylert) to Parent Link. The transition from School Messenger to Parent Link will take place Wednesday, May 22. For more details and background information, revisit the May 1 Chief’s Chatter.
You will have your current system to use for mass emails and phone callouts through Tuesday, May 21.
Phone Callouts
All phone callouts (unless it is an emergency on campus) will need to be recorded, scheduled and sent before the end of the day on May 21. No phone callouts can be sent using the current system starting May 22, even if they are scheduled beforehand. In the event of a campus emergency on May 22 or 23, Communications will assist in callouts.
Mass Emails
On May 22 and May 23, Technology and Communications will assist all campuses in sending mass emails. All emails that need to be sent on May 22 and 23 will need to be submitted ahead of time using THIS FORM.
BOND | THANK YOU
Your involvement in keeping your campus staff and families informed and engaged during the election seasons this year was instrumental in the approval of the three bond propositions and VATRE in the fall, and the three bond propositions this spring. THANK YOU for sharing information with your campus communities! Bond info related to projects included, timelines and updates will be available at LISD.net/bond.
Please remove all small road signs from your campus car lines, take down posters, and remove fliers.
5. EOY DAEP News & Important Reminders/ Tasks from Student Services
Howdy all!
The end of the year is fast approaching so here are a few important details for right now:
For a student to start DAEP this school year, the placement order must be entered by noon on 5/13.
Any student who has not started a DAEP placement by 5/17, will not start this year.
Mandatory placements and approved discretionary placements for stand-alone incidents (no persistent misbehavior) may also continue to be assigned after this date, they just may not start until next year. These students will need to be placed in ISS/BASE to finish the year.
If the incident occurs this year, there must be a Skyward entry and a DAEP order this year, even if their first day to serve will not be until next year.
For every DAEP placement that will carry over to next school year, the RETURN DATE must be 5/28. We use this date because you cannot have a date entered for next school year OR make it look like they are returning this year.
Seniors assigned to DAEP on any days during the last week of school or to OSS on the last day of school, may not participate in graduation commencement per the Student Code of Conduct which is adopted Board Policy.
Dr. Wendt will be communicating with all of you who have DAEP continuers so you know days remaining and can make a decision about carrying them over. If a student has 5 or fewer days remaining, they will automatically return to their home campus for the first day of school and will NOT CARRY OVER. More than 5 days remaining is a campus decision. Lucky ducks 3, 10, 28, 60, & 90- Email Robin if you won. I strongly recommend that you look closely at any kids with lengthy placements of which a significant number of days have already been served to determine if it would be appropriate to allow them to return to start the new year.
For the Discipline Clean Up below, you will need to know exact days remaining for any DAEP or JJAEP continuers. On 5/23, after attendance, Dr. Wendt will get you those for DAEP and I will get you those for JJAEP.
