Back To School, Enrollment & Open House Information
🎓 First Day of School - Thursday, August 17
Enrollment Reminders
For all NEW enrollees, please make plans to bring the following required enrollment documents to the High School and Elementary office as soon as possible: copy of CDIB (if applicable), birth certificate, social security card, proof of immunizations, and for all new students a copy of the student's transcript from their previous school (if available). Proof of residency (see enrollment forms for more information.) Foreign Exchange students must provide a copy of their J1 student passport.
7th-12th Grade Competitive Athletes: Please download and complete the OSSAA Eligibility Record Form and return to Mr. Brooks Cawhorn at your earliest convenience and prior to the beginning of the school year. Copies of this form are available at the Elem or HS school offices.
PowerSchool Parent Portal Enrollment Help
For parents who are unable to login to their account due to unknown username or password, an onsite help session will be available during the Back To School Open House on Tuesday, Aug 15 between 5 - 8 pm in the Technology Building
If you do not have access to a computer or cell phone, a paper copy of enrollment is available at both offices. Thank you to those who have completed online enrollment, and thanks to everyone for your patience.
Transfer Student Information
If your student is a new transfer student to Howe Public Schools and their pre-registration enrollment has been accepted, be sure to stop by your child's school office to complete a transfer request form as soon as possible, if you have not done so already. All new students need to bring the following items to the offices also.
1. Child's birth certificate
2. Proof of immunizations
3. Copy of child's CDIB (if applicable)
4. Student legal name change and/or changes in parental custody if changes have occurred
5. Proof of residence if you live in the district
Schoolwide Theme: Growing, Building, and Learning Together
You will see this theme throughout the school year and at our Back To School Open House on August 15th as we "build the path" to a new school year and showcase the ways we will travel together as learners. 🦁 JOM Program Enrollment
- Provide the student's tribal membership card, and/or parent's card & child's state-issued birth certificate.
Once a child is verified by the JOM office staff, the following are services that the JOM program offers to Howe students:
- Educational Supplies ($30 Visa Card)
- Academic Incentives per Semester
- Fees/Registrations
- Cap and Gown Fees for Kdg, 8th Grade and HS
- Cultural Awareness Field Trips and In-School Activities and Programming

2022-23 JOM Academic Incentives will also be available and can be signed for at the same time.
JOM parents are asked to complete a 506 form and complete the JOM Needs Assessment survey at the time of pickup.
